Motifs, Edgings, TIAS, Snowflakes, Doily and Teapot

Isa tatted this cloverleaf motif in size 30 pink cotton thread with cristal pearls in two colors transparent and pink. Her TIAS day 6 is done and she thinks it's a head of an alien creature.

Jessica did a second wheel motif and one of the small negative space fillers that connects both on the baby bonnet.

BevM I couldn't wait to try out her mini shuttles on the beginning of Snowflake 1 by her friend Carol Lepard.

Corina has day 6 of TIAS done.

Carolyn had fun tatting Celtic Style Christmas Wreath by Birgit Phelps in Lizbeth size 20 colors 117 & 104.

Sunshinecraft tatted 3 white snowflakes in DMC Cordonnet 40 Spring Blossom, Sunburst and Pirouette from Jon Yusoff's snowflake book.

Bev aka BJ is at day 5 of TIAS. She tried to photograph the picture Fox sent her, but the camera flash wasn't as fast as Pippa.

Diane tatted Piccolo Centro in size 20 Lizbeth, color #107, Tropical Fruit.
Fox is suddenly entranced with vintage patterns like, Trimming from Tatting Patterns edited by Julia Saunders which she did in Yarnplayer's Celery HDT and Milford #40.

Gina is tatting more vintage patterns, a scallop, a series of half open rings, both with and without picots. This insertion tatted in Presencia (Fincrochet) size 30 is a single shuttle pattern using a combination of closed and open rings called a galloon and here's a small sample tatted in DMC Special Cordonnet size 20. She found a small rock at Purdue that was kind of goldish looking and tatted the galoon in black and added beads to cover it.

Martha is planning a give away which will include one of her tatted teapots among other things. Check her blog for details.

Snowflakes, Motifs, TIAS, Necklaces, Earrings, Doily

CrazyKwilter has joined the challenge again and her first piece is the Ice Crystal Snowflake from The Big Book of Tatting that she modified to make it more pointed tatted in size 30 hand dyed thread.
Isa tatted this motif in size 20 cotton thread with two shuttles making daisy picots rings and chains. It's her own design based on the practice model from the last tatting meeting.
Orsi started with the same base motif as Fox's Abigail and made her own outer round.
Ann was hoping Norman, the rooster from an earlier TIAS, could give her a clue as to this one, but he didn't have any more idea than Ann.
Fox tatted a motif from DMC's Festive Tatting in Yarnplayer's size 20 Celery HDT.
Lily tatted another trefoil set, this time with the matching necklace in Coats Tridalia size 8 Pink Grapefruit color and czech beads. Also in the works is the Glass Mat by Sandra Goodnow in Coats Chain Mercer Crochet size 60 in beige and tiny seed beads.

Necklaces, Bookmarks, Motif and Earrings

Isa has finished work on the necklace she was designing. She used 3 different cotton threads all size 30 and she used a variety of techniques including rings, split rings, chains and Josephine knots. Now she is working on a new project, but what will it be? Maybe another necklace?

Laurette is addicted to making bookmarks and this is Jon's Overlapping Chain bookmark which looks complicated and intricate, but isn't.
Orsi has tatted Fox's Abigail motif and she really likes how it looks but found that the first round didn't lay flat. That's my fault. I did the first round for the class and wanted something as small as possible for a base round and skimped on the stitches.
Katherinne has another pair of earring done. These are Carnival by Yarnplayer, in size 20 Lizbeth, and size 10/0 seed beads and size 6 and 4 mm glass pearls.

Motifs, TIAS, Snowflakes, Doily, Edging, Bookmarks, Necklace and Earrings

Ninetta designed this motif tatted in DMC size 80, using 3 shuttles on the first row to make cluny red leaves. In the second row 2 shuttles are used joining at the connecting point between cluny leaves.

Alba Alicia is at day 5 of TIAS.

Jessica tatted this vintage motif which can be used to make a yoke. Her next motif is the start of a baby bonnet.

Mary tatted the Sweet Rose Snowflake from Jon Yusoff's Tatted Snowflake Collection and found that her picots were leaning so she tatted it again experimenting with different ways of tightening up her picots. I expect that blocking might have had the same effect.

Corina has completed Day 5 of TIAS and she thought it was going to be a dragon, but now she doesn't know what it is.

Carolyn has finished her second Petal Doily and now she's sick of pink and thinks she'll stick to small things for a while.

Ann is catching up on her TIAS tatting in the park.

IsDihara used size 20 Hakelgarn Bright White and crystal beads to tat Sharren Morgan's SCMR Snowflake. Here is Day 4 of TIAS, maybe it's the Loch Ness monster.

Wanda has Day 5 of TIAS done but has no idea what she's tatting. She has continued with the test tatting of class mates designs and did this one in 2 colours.

Fox tatted Iris Niebach's Fiordaliso and she was thrilled that the first time she tatted it was the first time she tatted a design without mistakes.
Katherinne has blocked her bookmarks, the Flower Bookmark/Edging, by Sabrina Carden-Madden, and the Tardis Bookmark by Anne Bruvold. She also started the Dream set by Yarnplayer and finished both the earrings and the matching pendant.

Sherry is back to work with new ceramic shuttles and hook pens.

Sue has one more cross bookmark done, a design from Becky Dempsey at Blossoms and Blessings Designs.

Necklaces, Snowflakes, Motifs, Crosses, Doily, Tablecloth and a Basket

Isa began this necklace with large mother of pearls leaves in a beautiful color. She's not sure where this design is going, but she's having fun making it. In the background you can also see her most recent TIAS.

Charlotte tatted Circle of Crowns snowflake from Jon Yusoff's Tatted Snowflake Collection, in size 20 Lisbeth thread.

Karen had some great opportunities to share her tatting at Christmas. She hosted an ornament exchange making a different ornament for each person, but her favourite was this green basket done in variegated thread with sparkly beads. The other 2 ornaments were snowflakes; one in green and one in white. She also managed to create a "Keep Calm and Tat On" poster to share.

Marta has been creating a series of designs with a stained glass window effect. The first one was worked from the outside in. The one with red beads is a variation of a Lyn Morton design and the green is done like Iris and the gold a replay of "Entertainment" The blue is an attempt to make a 4 sided figure instead of one with six sides.

Fox is finding that pattern drawing isn't her cup of tea. Her Maeve pattern is now done and she's glad she only had the 2 to work on. Sorry Fox, there will be more homework.

Martha has some lovely tatting attached to her pretty new shuttles, but she forgot to say what she was using them for.

Shirley tatted Pixie from my Tatted Flurried book in Autumn, a Sulky blendable 12wt. cotton thread.

Sue has been tatting a lot of crosses as gifts. This one is the Butterfly Cross by Ruth Perry done in size 20 Sacred Lotus cotton crochet thread from Crochet4U2Dye4. She did 5 more crosses for family and friends and needs to find some different designs for other family members. Her doily is coming along as is her tablecloth. When does this woman sleep?
