Bookmarks, Baby Booties, Doily Pattern, Motifs, Doily, Necklace and Shawl

Joy is still tatting away at bookmarks. She spent a fun evening at her local "knitting club" at the library and thoroughly enjoyed listening to the funny stories being told by the older ladies.
Michelle was able to finish one pair of the Mary Konior booties during the trip to North Dakota, then when she got home she had surgery and was able to spend the rest of her time tatting and managed to do another pair.

Ninetta designed this bookmark working in the central line with two shuttles and the ball, in pearl tatting, with two connected chains of 4ds alternated black and green and she's trying to write out the pattern. It's done in DMC size 80 thread and the length is about 12cm.
Jessica has been working out the connecting pieces for the shawl and she thought it would be better to draw a possible connecting strip rather than try to just tat it. She's planning on doing a smaller sample bit that she can experiment with, so that if it doesn't work she can cut it off without damaging the shawl.

Bree has posted the pattern for her Shaded Sun pattern. Check her blog for the full pattern.
Fox got so frustrated with this tatting that it got pitched into the garbage, and then retrieved as she was determined to just get it finished. She had plans on doing the whole thing in the lovely vibrant thread and started the centres of all 4 motifs, but just couldn't face that much tatting with sticky, floppy, fuzzy and breakable thread. So she switched to Lizbeth and after a monumental effort to NOT obsess over making it perfect, it's finally done and looking lovely. Ladytats suggested that she doesn't have to make knots when she does a mock picot and that's simplified things for her.

Mica tatted these baby booties in Cebelia DMC in 3 colours for a friend and since they didn't know if it was a boy or a girl, she used neutral colours.
Wanda is bouncing up and down with glee at the results of her two fair entries that both won firsts. The Antique Motif Doily which had to be entered in the crochet category not only won a first, it also won grand champion. She has been playing around with a motif, using split chains and adding beads and changing the stitch count. Her husband thinks it looks like a spaceship.

Shamrocks, Doilies, Hearts and Tatted Charms

Nancy has caught up with her tatting and first off is Heart's Desire by Susan K. Fuller in Flora size 20 color 221. Then a shamrock in Flora size 20, color 220. The shamrock design that came from her tinkering around. This shamrock was tatted with Flora 20 in color 220 and the pattern came from an Old Time Crochet Magazine from 1999. IsDihara has gathered up CiarrĂ¡n strapped on her green shamrocks and left the building in search of cookies.
Vinnie has made another Spring Doily, this time with the full pattern for your enjoyment.
Wanda shows us the little butterfly that she tatted with the one of a kind oak shuttle her hubby made for her. He's definitely a keeper!
Marty has hit her 200th blog post and to celebrate she's giving away a charm like the one attached to her phone. That would be this pretty green one made of size 20 Haklegarn worked over a plastic ring with lots of clear seed beads. Check out her blog for details.

Dragons, Doilies, Snowflakes and Fair entries

Anne has bee playing with the colour on her dragon pattern. The original version called for SSSR
but then she did a two colour version using a regular split ring. Then she got even more creative and did a two colour version burying the unused colour in the core of the SSSR. Aren't these amazing?

Heather has some new doilies completed worked in White and and variegated green/white/pink thread called Sage Rose in size 10 thread. The doilies are 4.5 inches across. Heather has altered where she used the variegated thread to create totally different looks. Check her blog for the links to the patterns.

Joy is in a frantic race to get her tatting projects done for the Farm Show.

TattingChic received the snowflake from Fairiebee. It's Lisa Trumble's Triangular Medallion done in size 30 thread.

Lots to Catch-up On

Mica has a couple of things to share with us. The first is a motif made from a pattern from a vintage Coats and Clarke book and then there is a pair of dragonflies made using DS9 Designs pattern. Aren't they cute little guys.

LauraRose has posted a picture of a Lisbeth doily she is tatting in a beautiful shade of blue.

Krystle has been receiving lots of tatting goodies in the mail this past week. Her Grandfather sent her a shuttle and some patterns. Her Grandmother who is 90 sent her a tatted hankie bonnet for the baby that is due next month and she received a package of HDT from Yarn Player in the Roses colourway. I think Krystle is now addicted to HDT. She has also started a challenge for people to finish there Part one of the Tat Program.

Steph has tatted 2 motifs for the challenge. Number 5 is an Alligator bookmark and #6 is a lion bookmark both are critters from Dianna Stevens' fantastic bookmark book Animal Bookmarks, A Tatted Zoo.

Vinnie is back after being away from the web for a week and she has a lot to show us. She has added another round to the doily she is working on, she shows us her very first tatting project and a little coaster that she made yesterday.

Ancolie shows us four motifs that are a colourful version of a pattern from Judith Connors done in DMC 80.

Wanda is very busy with family health issues but she had time to tat motif #15 "Heart's Desire" in DMC variegated blue size 8 Pearle.

Heather has tatted motif 13 and it was a test piece to see how she could manipulate colours in her tatting. Heather is coming up to her blog-anniversary and to celebrate she is having a giveaway. You will have to visit her blog for the details.

Tattingchic has tatted a heart. This heart is from Martha Ess' book of tatted heart patterns called"Tat's Amore'". The heart is called "Scallop Shell Heart".

Ellen Lai has been busy and she finishes her 25 motif challenge with an amazing, life-like Hibiscus. Way to go Ellen that is a wonderful piece of tatting. I wonder if we can convince her to share the pattern? Congratulations on finishing the challenge Ellen.

Carol has tatted a beautiful Mother of Pearl Button brooch for a friend using one of Jane Eborall's wonderful patterns.

Diane has taken a small motif to form the center of a doily then adapted an edging pattern by Krystle and adapted it to finish the doily and has given us the resulting pattern. This makes motif #25 of the challenge for Diane. Congratulations Diane on completing the challenge.

Jeff has completed the Spinning Wheel Mat in Americana thread that is what else but red, white and blue.

Wally has a lot to show us and the first items are teapots made using everyone's favorite designs from Martha's new book Tea is for Tatting. She also bought a Dremel and is starting to make shuttles. Her last item is bookmark butterflies designed by Ellen that are wonderful and the pattern can be found on Georgia's site.
