Fox received a different version of her Pine Plains Picot from Marta. She used Perfect Quilter thread to tat the fine edging for this delicate hanky. She is taking lots of little breaks, and playing around with random bits of thread, while working on the Mystery Doily in Cèbèlia #30. Surprisingly, she's enjoying working with Cebelia this time. It the change in the thread, or in her tension?
Kristen has day 5 of TIAS done and she can tell her original guess of a unicycle was wrong. The Spiderweb doily is still growing. Day 6 or TIAS is done. The Spiderweb doily is finished and looking so lovely that her husband has suggested framing it. She was playing with a couple of the motifs in Lindsay Rogers' book "Mastering Tatting but they gave her a bit of trouble. With a little perseverance she finished them. Shamrock, Necklaces, Wreath, Gloves, Bookmarks, Heart, Motifs, Butterflies, Doilies, Ornaments, Hairclips, Snowflakes and Pendants
Sharon has been tatting shamrocks from Sharrren Morgan's pattern and lighter green thread was left on a shuttle which is probably Aunt Lydia's and the darker green is Cebelia. She though her birthstone, amethyst teardrops, looked so classy with the black size 20 thread on this necklace... until the thread and beads got hopelessly tangled.
Laurie made the Tatted Christmas Wreath in size 10 Lizbeth thread, but if she does it again she'll use smaller thread and beads.
Jane has posted a link to the PDF version of the pattern for the mignonette fingerless gloves which is long but included lots of pictures. She did Lenore English's Tatted Celtic Bookmark in size 40 because she had the colours she wanted to use in her stash.
Lelia tatted Betsy Evans Small Tatted Heart in Lizbeth size 20, Color 621. The next 2 motifs are from Patti Duff's Minitats and the first was tatted with Lizbeth size 20, color 622, while the second was done in color 621. Butterflies, of course, are good for emptying shuttles.
Ginny has been busy caring for her Mom who is going through hip surgery and also preparing to teach this lovely star attraction doily at Hector this year. The decorated lightbulb shape has had a photo poke added so that it can be used to display your favourite pictures. Clever!
Julie finished tatting Mary Konior's Large Cross from her Tatting with Visual Patterns book. Jon's Merriment Doily done in Jess's beautiful HDT. The Layered Tatted Snowflake from Be-Stitched was tatted in the same lovely thread. Although Julies hasn't used buttons like this before, they just seemed perfect with these purple flowers.
NancyD started a page about tatting on facebook. These hearts are in the mail. The button heart pattern is by Debi Pennington and the bottom heart is by Nancy Tracy at Be-stitched.com.
Diane has finished Doily VI from Tatted Treasures by Jan Stawasz using size 20 Lizbeth #168 Latte Foam.
Fox seems to be stuck in a doily tatting rut these days. This is design is a pattern by Jan Stawasz worked in 3 different weights of thread, but the colours work and maybe it's the use of her all time favourite HDT from Krystle: Wisteria Lane. Then she just had to give Karey's Golden Arches from Doily Delights, a try, although she's working it in blue.
Jess is working a bookmark in one of her new Messy Jess!y colours named Graced. Debbie Arnold's Square Doily was going fine until she started with the Daffodil colour, and then the thread kept breaking. She's seriously considering just cutting it off because the colours aren't what she envisioned. On the other hand, Frivole's Flower Quatrain Bookmark in "Graced" looks wonderful in soft muted tones.
Margaret was asked to tat six snowflakes and the pattern is one of Anna's from December 1991. The Tatted Heart designed by Betsy Evans was done in; top row from left to right Lizbeth's white, Falling Leaves, and Pale Yellow DMC. The bottom row left to right is Lizbeth's Sea Island Citrus, Gold, and Rainbow Taffy. Here's a closeup of this lovely heart.
