Bookmarks, Earrings, Snowflakes, Ornaments, Motifs and Angels

The Guidelines
1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.
3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.
---------------
Bree is working on some bookmarks to send to a friend. She needs 6 different designs so she plans on tatting a lot of them and then choosing from there. The first is her own design done in Lizbeth size 20, color 656. The next is also her design done in Lizbeth size 20, although she's not sure of the colour because it was missing it's tag.

Tats hasn't posted any tatting for quite a while, but now she is making up for lost time. The pattern Baby's Lucky Penny was done with Lizbeth size 20 in Grape Pizazz. The earrings are a pattern from Celtic Tatting Knots & Patterns made with Krystledawn's Mad Science Blue & Green HDT. Another pair of earrings from Celtic Tatting Knots & Patterns were tatted with Lizbeth size 20 Purple Splendor and a pair done in Lizbeth size 20 Autumn Spice. The Small Cross from Mary Konior's Tatting With Visual Patterns was tatted with Olympus size 40 in M10 color with Lizbeth size 40 in Gold for edging. A tatted bookmark from Tatting Miscellany by Lindsay Rogers was done in Lizbeth size 20 Purple Splendor. The next set of earrings were a gift to Jasmine in her favorite color Lizbeth's size 20 Springtime. The little snowflake tatted with Lizbeth size 20 in white is out of Vida Sunderman's snowflake book although it only has the first 2 rounds. The last set of earrings done in Lizbeth size 20 Springtime were made by request and they just happen to make her 25th motif. Whew, she's all done and ready to start another round.

Orsi created a snowflake from her 7th motif and has included the pattern for it.
Tatteristic made this beautiful beaded wreath designed by Laura Bobay which can be found on Tat-Man's website, although she didn't do the second round.
Sunshinecraft bought Jon's snowflakes book and she couldn't decide which one to do first, so she started at the beginning and tatted Alladin in 3 strands of DMC metallic floss which made a chunky thread good for her eyesight. The middle one is Effloresscence done in multi-colour Anchor Perle 5 and the last of the trio is Sweet Rose in DMC Cebelia 20. Mark shared a design for an ingenious cross made in one pass with no cutting and after he explained how it was done, she made a snowflake shaped version in Anchor perle 8.

Wanda received her exchange package from InTatters which included a Christmas bookmark. Once her exchange pieces were out of the way she had time to tat some snowflakes. The top one is a pattern from a few years ago that she added glass silver seed beads to it to give it a little shine. The larger one on the right is the center of one from last year but with a different outside round. The other two are variations on a theme, one with six points and one with five, all made with Lizbeth white, size 20.

BSOTF has tatted a snowflake with a reindeer centre mounted in a ring. Very cute and very clever.
Diane has used Stumpy by Kersti Anear for the InTatters One Bookmark a Month challenge done in size 40 Lizbeth, color #131. She used Christmas colours for Mary Konior's Mixed Bouquet from A Pattern Book of Tatting. She received her exchange package with a tatted piece with letter beads, an ornament with beautiful Cluny tallies in the center, floss threaders, and a lovely bookmark designed by Edda Schneider.

Ingrid has hit 2 milestones, since she lost 16 kilos (that's over 35 pounds) and finished 25 motifs since she started her blog. He last pieces are the star shaped snowflake designed by Vida Sunderman from the book Tatted Snowflakes and Crystle designed by Sharon Briggs from the book Tatted Flurries. Ingrid also plans to start another 25.
Fox tatted one of Jon's Covered Ring Patterns in Christmas colours as a Thank You gift and Miranda's Angels in the Snow snowflake was given to her dentist and both recipients were thrilled with their presents. Jane's Flurry Snowflake and Krystle's HDT have been matched up with a some beads to make an exceedingly pretty snowflake.

Lily tatted Jane's Flurry snowflake in Camila (Coats) Baby Pink and variegated green, but she forgot to join it in several places, so she'll have to try it again. She bought Tatting Jewelry by Lyn Morton and she didn't have enough metallic thread to make a necklet so she used 5 strands of sewing thread (dark mocha, coral, pale yellow, goldenrod, camel) and put it together with her Tridalia in grapefruit to get a peachy mocha twist colour. She wanted to use dark chocolate colored crystal beads, but had to use pale gold glass beads, but she didn't care for the combination. Then she tatted a pair of earrings using a double strand of metallic thread with Swarovski crystal beads from Lyn's book, she thinks it's from the Double Thread Posy Collection.

Shirley tatted Mark's LaVonne's angel in DMC blanc size 20 and gold embroidery thread, about 3 strands for the halo. She tried out Sulky thread size 12 cotton in Truly Teal. The first motif is the first round only of Peony from Tatting Patterns & Designs by Gun Blonqvist & Elwy Persson and the second motif in the bangle is The Third Day of December from Lene Bjorn's 24 Snowflakes in Tatting. The purple snowflake is Jon Yusoff's, Pirouette from her book Tatted Snowflake Collection done in DMC size 70 in a dark purple variegated thread. The green and white snowflake is Astral from the same book tatted with size 30 threads in white and Christmas green #701. Another angel from Mark Myers book, Tatted Gathering of Angels, is Allyson's Angel tatted in DMC blanc in size 20. The bright bookmark is Red Clover Bookmark by Eliz Davis worked in Lady Shuttle-Maker's HDT size 20 called Bell Peppers.

Sue tatted one of the snowflakes from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting from Lene Bjorn in DMC size 80 and she's wondering if she tightens her chains too much because her tatting doesn't want to lay flat. I suggest beating it into submission with blocking.
