Heart, Motifs, Doilies, Earrings and Pendant

Sue decided to keep working on the bridge set. Here is the Heart and the Spade, which leaves just the Club to finish.

mb duke is working slowly through round 8 of Renulek's Spring Doily which she started in the middle of a flower motif so that when she gets to the end of this round, all she'll have to join is rings 4 and 5 of the flower. The doily is now so large only about half of it fits on the scanner.

Barbara is back to working through Elegant Tatting Gems by Jon Yusoff, with Adan done in Lizbeth size 40 colour Jungle Greens #167.

Linda received threads and beads for Christmas from Sue Anna and made these blue earrings using a pattern by Nancy Tracy.

Grace shows the original teacup, the test of a new design to make it larger and her prototype in the final colours. Then there is the shamrock pattern she was trying out along with the variation with a bead done in size 40 Christmas Green and Christmas Green variegated she was working on for St Patrick's Day. The last one is her tribute to Renulek's spring doily, done in size 80 Lizbeth which is intended as a pendant.

Diane managed to complete Labor no. 10 from Frivolite 1 Creaciones Artime and the finished size is 9 1/4 inches in Lizbeth Twirlz, but she's not sure she likes the thread.

Kristen is enjoying Renulek's Spring Doily and since her husband has been away, she has had time to tat and complete rounds 4 to 7. She decided it would be fun to work on something in a bit larger thread and this is the first couple rounds of Karey Solomon's Plain and Fancy doily from her booklet Doily Delights in size 20 Lizbeth. Her Secret Santa package got lost in transit and Aileen sent her a replacement package, with lots of goodies in it.

Mica has a number of WIPs and has found that the only way to deal with them is to bring out 2 or 3 at a time and just finish them. This one is from a Russian book.

Motifs, Bracelet, Doilies, Butterflies, Shamrock, Hearts, Necklace, Snowflake, and Lion

Batty Tatter is ready for spring and shows us some of the hats she has done.

Erisnyx made this design from Tatting Patterns, by Julia E. Sanders in light blue and a mint green. Marilee Rockley's Compass Pendant (bottom center, done in Lizbeth size 20, #684 and #694), from her Tatted Jewelry book started her off in making this charm bracelet. A doodle that looks a little like an anchor (top right, done in Lizbeth size 20, #647), then a hat (Bottom right, done in Lizbeth size 20, #115), she used a cloverleaf from a motif in The Complete Book of Tatting, by Rebecca Jones for the Triforce bottom (left, done in gold sewing thread), and for the Pokeball a doodle she made up (left, done in Lizbeth size 80, #671 and #601). The last charm is a key because she collects keys, and is a pattern she made up done in Lizbeth size 20, #691.

Lilas really wanted a black bracelet with these silvery beads, so she made one with Cébélia size 30.

Sue took up the challenge to tat the bridge set out of Norma Benporath's The Home Beautiful Tatting Book, but the diamond is done in 2 rows meaning more ends to hide. She re-worked it to be done in one pass and will provide the pattern when she gets around to it.

Phyllis is up to Row 8 of Renulek's 2014 Spring Doily and it's measuring 15 inches across, which makes it the biggest piece she has ever tatted.

Lelia's girlfriend had some left over Delica beads that went well with some tatted doodles. On the left, a butterfly pattern based on one found in Complete Book of Tatting by Rebecca Jones and on the right Jon Yusoff's dragonfly pattern where she used the beads on the core thread. Here are some more butterflies where she used the beads in unfamiliar places. She used size 20, Lizbeth Color 138, for these motifs that feature cloverleaves and one final doodle to empty a shuttle.

Jessica has the first few rounds of a new doily from Priscilla Tatting Book done. There are more rows, but this was all she could do with the mini skein of her Wisteria HDT she had for testing.

Diane's third graders are still working on their lace. Diane finished round 3 of Labor no. 10 while travelling. Marty sent her lots of little heart motifs to share with her students. The next round on her doily is simple, but she made a mistake after the first repeat and had to cut off and start again. Here is round 4 completed.

Kathy tatted Sharren's famous SCMR Shamrock, which is a nice size for this fridge magnet. The Celtic pendant is several years old now, and, of course, was designed by Rosemarie Peel.

Marie tatted this necklace of fire opals using 2 strands of copper sewing thread. The pendant is an untreated fire opal that she tatted around.

Mica tatted Minaret from Jon's book, Tatted Snowflakes Collection in Lizbeth size 40.

Wanda's niece is expecting and the baby's room has been done in a Lion King theme, so this tatted lion made from Jennifer Williams' pattern was a perfect choice. After mounting it, Wanda decided another strand of mane would make it even better. It does.

Bracelet, Doilies, Bookmarks, Shamrock, Motifs and Dreamcatcher

Lilas' bracelet done in DMC Cebelia size 40 with Miyuki white pearls beads has a ribbon threaded through it for a closure.

Stephanie tatted this mat from one of Mary Konior's books in Perfect Quilter thread colour 085 which she thinks is called Sun Rays. This doily in Tatted Treasures by Jan Stawasz was done using Perfect Quilter Volcano colour and Sulky #12-wt cotton, colour #1232. The same design in Sulky #12-weight cotton, colour #1078 and Perfect Quilter #085 Sun Rays looks smaller, but it isn't. The other Stawasz doily is progressing slowly and she has only one more round to go. Ice Crystal from Tatting Patterns and Designs by Blomqvist and Persson is an amazing design and she did it in Perfect Quilter Sun Rays colour. Lucky Clover, from Tatting Patterns and Designs was tatted in Sulky #12-wt thread, colour 4019 Forest Floor and done just in time for St Patrick's day.

mb duke has rounds 6 and 7 of the Spring Doily finished. Here's the detailed look at it.

Cindy tatted Frivole's Flowering Quatrain Bookmark while she was on vacation and gave it to one of the beach vendors who was interested in it.

Fox was doing so well on this doily until she reached the end and could not finish the last repeat. After much counting and searching she discovered a picot she had skipped over several rows before. We will now pause to mourn the doily that will never be. Fox has moved on to start again in slightly happier tones, using the same #80 Lizbeth and another lighter green.

Kristen tatted a Doily by Adelheid Dangela in the Ring of Tatters' 30th Anniversary Book of Patterns in size 80 Lizbeth. She also started Renulek's Spring Doily. Rounds 1, 2 and 3 went well, but she's puzzled about starting round 4.

Margaret hasn't been tatting since her accident and Mariya's cloverleaf is one of the first things she did. She used Lizbeth size 20 Christmas Green mix and didn't like the way the 4 leaves looked, so she re-did it with 3 leaves.

Sue tatted Kincir from Tatting with Rings by Jon Yusoff in size 40 Lizbeth Island Breeze and it was her first time tatting Josephine knots. This is another bangle bracelet dreamcatcher done with quilting thread in red, white, and blue, made for a friend.

Wanda tatted lots of shamrocks for St Patrick's Day.
