Necklaces, Edging, Doilies, Motifs, Earrings, Heart, Fairy and Lanyard

Margaret tatted her pattern called Daisy Rose in Lizbeth Purple Splendor thread size 20 with a silver bead in the middle and a silver metal leaf hung on a ribbon necklace in purple to match for the inTatters Spring Exchange.

Marie tatted her Itty-Bitty edging from her Tatsmithing book around a small agate stone which makes a pretty necklace, but it would also make adorable earrings.

Linda did a gorgeous wedding hanky for her niece. The pattern for the edging is Lily's version of Ann Wilson's Hankie Edging tatted with size 80 thread. The chains are 158 Niagara Falls and the rings are 658 Ocean Turquoise using 3 repeats on the corner.

Denise started Mary Konior's Flowerpiece doily from Tatting with Visual Patterns, but didn't like any of her colour choices, so she started it again. She still didn't like it, so it languished for a while. She finally decided to do it in Lizbeth size 20 683 Leaf green lt, 630 Peach lt & 603 Ecru and now it's finished and looking gorgeous.

Diane tatted the Flowerpiece motif by Mary Konior from Tatting with Visual Patterns using some Sulky thread left on the shuttles for her practice piece. She did it again in size 20 Lizbeth #107, Tropical Fruit and made a slight mistake so she did it again. The "mistakes" will be saved up to use in some crazy quilting.

Frivole received some thread from Jess at Tat-ilicious and made them into earrings. The colour is Chilled, size 20.

IsDihara is thrilled that Maus (Etha Schuette) has re-posted her Old Fashioned Heart to her blog.

Kelly has finally completed her Italian doily done in Sunset on Seneca Lake HDT in size 20. She had to order more of the thread to complete it and while she was waiting for it to come she did it again in a lovely yellow from DMC Cebelia size 30. Size 20 worked out to about 16 inches across and the size 30 was about 14 inches.

Martha is getting revved up for Palmettos where she will be teaching this enchanting fairy.

Sherry has her lanyard finished and it looks amazing.

Motifs, Doilies, Earrings, Edgings, Bracelet and Bookmarks

Denise has been tatting Mary Konior patterns from Tatting with Visual Patterns. First Duet in Lizbeth size 20 #105 Confetti. Then Patchwork in Lizbeth size 20 #132 Tropical Punch & #684 Leaf Green Med.

Marie shows more patterns from her Tatsmithing book, Stout Agate, using a banded agate that looks like a fish in the stone and Tall Agate using a carnelian agate.
 

Mariya has created some new designs and taken the time to write out the patterns which you can find on the Free Patterns page. Royal Flower which she has shown us before, Drop Motif earrings, wheel earrings, Pansy Braid edging and a bracelet with spirals.

Jessica started doing some edgings thinking that is she tatted them as an ongoing project throughout the year, that in a few years time she would have a Christmas tree covered in tatted garlands. This one is a variation of  a pattern from the Priscilla Tatting book done in red and green that she has called The Holly and the Ivy and she posts her pattern changes on her blog. The next one she tried out using some thread already on the shuttles thinking that in while it would look like a string of snowflakes. She modified it using split rings so that it could be done in one pass and then thought that more points would look better, or maybe not. She's included the instructions for the modern version using split rings on her blog.

Linda always seems to find ways to incorporate tatted bits to her crazy quilts. Whole motifs are added with bits of embroidery and partial motifs become fantasy flowers and butterflies. Every tatter needs a fellow CQ artist to use up those bits of oopsies.

Ancolie has completed Corona by Judith Connors and remarks that while it is a nice doily, it isn't for beginners.

Diane's next Stumpy is done in Sulky Blendables, Midnight Sky and that completes another set to be made into shuttles. She thought she'd do some in plain ordinary white, but she ran out of thread and doesn't know what the thread is because she was just emptying the shuttle. The next two are done in Sulky Blendables, Natural Taupe, which she has already done before. Another favourite is Mary Konior's Spinning Wheel glass mat, done this time in Caribbean.

Fox tatted  a pattern by Lyn Morton  using #40 HDT Garden Afternoon, by Yarnplayer, then began another pattern that didn't work out the way she wanted it to. The black is Cebelia and she thinks the other is some of Jess's HDT but she doesn't have a label for it. She replaced the Cebelia with Lizbeth, and so far it's working out. She's off on vacation and will have this secret pattern finished off by then and she has Jon's Mothers Day heart with daisy picot rings packed. She thinks she needs lots of practice.

Frances lost a pair of shuttles and a daisy chain edging she had been working on while travelling. She found them in the back of a desk drawer and now she can continue working on it.

Frivole was the recipient of a wonderful beaded shuttle bag from Marie Smith tatted in silk with oodles of beads. 

Jess is planning a vacation with her little one who has packed the important stuff like her toys and a couple of Mom's shuttles with Mom's one shuttle heart peeking out. Plain black matched with lots of HDT makes for a relaxing tatting combination when vacationing.

Sherry has been tweaking a tatted triangle design that she did some time ago. She has plans to tat a beaded lanyard using a pattern from Patti D, but she had to change it a little because her beads are smaller. This bit will be a zipper pull. Here is the lanyard being worked in silver which is so much nicer in person. Shiny threads that sparkle in the light just don't photograph well.

Vanessa needed a pattern for a bookmark exchange and she decided on Jane Eborall's flowery bookmark.

Margaret was a test tatter for Ginny's new book 12 Ornaments of Christmas Book 2. This is Winnie which used 650 size 11 seed beads and 8 dangle beads and it was a challenge to tat.

Denise used some very pretty handtowels with a tatted embellishment as window curtains for her bathroom. She used Lizbeth size 20 #607 Charcoal Med and Mary Konior's Duet pattern from the book, Tatting with Visual Patterns.

Marie used a cabochon and her Basic Design from her book, Tatsmithing, to create this pendant. 7 Sisters Standing Tall is another pattern from her book surrounding a piece of unakite.  

Laurette tatted the small mat of the Dressing Set from the Handy Hands Newsletter Winter 2010 in is Lizabeth Wildflower #109.

Heather's students have persevered and finally "got it" even if it's just 2 petals of a flower. Another student starts a second flower and proudly wears the first one she completed. The dragon was considered less than perfect and has been started again in vivid colour.

Julie tatted Mary Konior's Small Cross from Tatting with Visual Patterns in vintage size 70 Star Tatting thread in shades 129 Red and 122 Blue, while having tea with her little one. 

Kristen managed to tat another round to her white doily while watching her brother's graduation online. She began a less complex pattern in a caramel colour thread and then she added a row of her favorite off-white Turkish cotton thread, followed by a row of white and another of the off white. She finished it with more of the caramel colour thread but it looks incomplete to her.

 

Bonnie tatted Mary's Butterfly's pattern, using Yarnplayer's size 50 nicobar pigeon HDT and a flower made from Lizbeth thread size 20 Latte Foam to embellish a card.

Diane has tatted more of Kersti's Stumpy bookmark, this time in Sulky Blendables Truly Teal.

Fox tatted Snow Star from Patterns and Tatting Designs, by Blomqvist and Persson in Silk Zwicky thread in centre from Krystle, Pink #50 Altin Basak, #40 Lizbeth for the rest. And here are both of the patterns she has done from the book. Here is Snow Star again after blocking. She pulled out Lyn Morton's book looking for a pattern that didn't take a lot of thread. Here's a comparison in white and in colour.

Frances did more tatting than blogging in April. The Tardis pattern by Anne Bruvold is for a nephew who is a huge Dr Who fan. Her niece is getting this butterfly edging from Tatting doilies and edgings edited by Rita Weiss done in Milford Satin 2ply. The Flying Minor Norwegian Dragon in Lizbeth Ocean Sunset #40 is going to her SIL.

Frivole is still working on her doily and this is the second butterfly round. She loves Yarnplayer's Twilight Zone HDT but it was sold out and a friend sent her a sample to try. The Keyed Up earrings in Marilee Rockley's new book, Tatted Jewelry, were tatted in Lizbeth 20 Country Turquoise Med.

IsDihara couldn't bear the thought of white thread, so fortunately she could use Lizbeth 40 Peacock Blues to tat Jane Eborall's Celtic Snowflake.

Jess loves barter packages and this one included An angel, pattern by Marie Smith tatted by Sharon and a button Butterfly pattern by Karey Solomon also tatted by Sharon. She started Birgit's Peacock Heart trying out her Tatilicous size 40 Olive Warbler HDT, but she messed up the second round and decided to end it early. Here is Susan Fuller's Heart's Desire in Olive Warbler with Lizbeth Gold and some of lime green beads, although she thinks there are some differences in tension between the 2 halves.

Orsi modified the Tischband leaf starting with a ring and split rings and adding two tiny rings at the bottom instead of the narrow chains to make a rounder leaf.

Sue tatted Rebecca's Colossians 2:14 Cross in Jess' HDT size 40 Rainbow-licious.

Vanessa tatted a mitten from Martha Ess' book, Holidays on the Block, but I don't think it will really keep her warm in winter weather.

Wanda tatted Tiny Angel #12 by Patricia Ann Rizzo for two of her aunts for Mother's Day. The pin for her mother's birthday used the dragonfly she showed last week, but it  needed a darker color behind it like these lease she designed done in Häkelgarn #2015, size 20. Here it is assembled.
