Earrings, Necklaces, Edgings, Bracelets, Motifs and Awesome Tatting

Meme is one of our earlier participants in the 25 Motif Challenge and she recently sent me some pictures of some tatting she did. The back of the bridal gown is tatted and the earrings are tatted in white and silver thread making an utterly luscious bride. Check out her blog to see it in all it's glory.

Tats shows us what KrystleDawne's "Mad Science Blue and Green" HDT looks like tatted up. After spending some time shuttle tatting, she had to break out her needles again to make sure she remembered how to use them. The cross is tatted in size 10 thread in seafoam green.

BSOTF shares her container of practice pieces with the comment that they sometimes answer questions for you. That's what I tell the designing class too. Every piece of lace you tat teaches you something, even if it's just a practice piece or a cast off bit.

Nami tatted a lovely wide bracelet called The Snow Queen in white metallic thread. She has also done another of the same motif and shares the pattern for it.

Corina tatted Jane Eborall's Winsome Drop Earrings.

Agasunset has finished the design on the necklace for the bridal party. Now she just needs to tweak it a little adding some crystals and closures.

Wendy shows us the progression in these three doilies as she makes adjustments to the design.

Isabel participated in a round robin creating a group project and this is how her version turned out.

Linda shows us an edging that she tatted with the new Pop-A-Bobbin shuttle that she received as a gift.
Bonnie tatted these earrings which are a pattern from Yarnplayer's new book.

Kelly is delighted with the influx of hankies she received when folks discovered that she was tatting edgings for them. At the moment she's working on a border for a edging around a wedding invitation for a September gift.

Bookmarks, Bracelets, Hearts, Owl, Jacket and Motifs

BSOTF tatted a bookmark in Lizbeth zebra & Flora dark buttercup. In a similar pattern she made earrings in South Maid purple & Flora dark Buttercup.

Paige has been tatting and has a necklace and some bracelets made from Krystle's test HDT. Orsi thought she had the tatting part done but when she had the silk body of the jacket completed she realized that she needed to make the back of the tatting longer and had to tat 2 more rows. Here is the jacket so far with crocheted buttons and tatted loops.

Sue shows us some of Bethany's tatting, which is pretty good for a 14 year old that's just learned how to tat. Sue has just finished the spinnng wheel glass mat from Mary Konior's Tatting with Visual Patterns done in Lizbeth size 20 Royal Wave. She's continuing her snowflakes with one from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman also tatted in Lizbeth size 20 Royal Wave.
Agasunset has received a commission to tat a set of masks for a wedding party with matching necklaces. She has begun with a mask designed by Anastasia Maltseva and has started her first trial necklace to match.
Cindy doesn't like making things that have separate motifs so tatting this doily in Lizbeth jelly bean, spring green and white size 20 thread was a challenge. She has plans to enter it in the fair and that was her motivation to get it done. She's counting the whole doily as motif #17, (that's one big motif!). Her other fair entry is a bookmark.
Anne is tatting hearts for Christmas and shares the pattern with us.
Fox has 2 motifs completed and 2 more to add. Nami's patter nwas tatted using Altin Basak Metallic, together with #80 pink Majestic around the border and accented with pewter grey beads she found in Kensington Market.
Kathy has added a few more motifs on scalloped black velvet paper discs to make quick pendants. The blue is Lizbeth Turquoise, size 20 and the Dimpled Rings motif is Lizbeth Vineyard Harvest, size 20. Krystle is working on a doily using HDT thread from Karey Solomon and a pattern from Lynn Morton's Tatting Patterns, done mostly while hubby was in the ER.

Martha thought she counted right, but then found that she didn't have quite enough patterns to fit in a four fold book so shee needed to design some more. The OWL is one of the extras and she gives us a peak that the designing process. These were done using Lizbeth Mocha Brown Dark, a thread she received in the thread exchange. Marty has another pair of ornaments made from the same pattern, but in different colors. This one is also her own pattern, but uses only four repeats. Both are made with size 20 Lizbeth.

Bookmarks, Doilies, Neklaces, Earrings and Motifs

Tats has Mary Konior's Small Cross completed. She also has a couple of other bookmarks done. The butterfly bookmark was done in Lizbeth size 20 Carribean and the Beginners Choice Bookmark from Barbara Foster's Tatted Bookmarks Needle and Shuttle done in Lizbeth size 20 in Razzle Dazzle.
BSOTF tatted a hair decoration in Lizbeth Red Burst & Western Sunset of thread.
Lily saw the spinning Wheel glass mat on IsDihara's page and had to try it for herself, but she didn't like how the thread she was working with looked when it was tatted. Carolyn is working on the Tatted Petal Doily doing all of one segment at a time since she can quickly memorize the pattern.
Agasunset is trying out cro-tatting and the triangles are made both methods, the one with thin chain is cro-tatted and the thick chain is needle tatted. She is also beginning a square table runner in cro-tatting based on a pattern she purchased.
Ann had to learn how to do roll tatting in order to tat Lupins from Mary Konior's Tatting With Visual Patterns.
Krystle received a request for her "Petal Perfect" necklaces made to look more like a sunflower so she replaced the cabone ring with a Catherine Wheel tatted in her own HDT and the other threads are Lizbeth. The necklace and matching earrings are made with her own HDT. She used round crystals on the necklace and drops on the earrings. Martha shares a picture of the tatting embellished quilt created by tatters to be raffled off in exchange for a $5 donation to the Palmetto TatDays Scholarship fund.
