Snowflakes, Hearts and Brooches

Vinnie was cleaning and found some old letters and some older tattings and came up with this beautiful item. Here is what she said "I wondered what to do with them, then got an idea!
Took out the red velvet, my sewing machine...and my phone and got a new addition to it's ever expanding wardrobe!"

Aileen for her motif #18 she has got herself some pink 40 to make Sunburst, her favourite of Jon's snowflakes from her Collection of Snowflakes.

And for her #19 she has tatted this maple leaf she says "I could have sworn I got the link for the pattern on the TattingGoddess' blog but I can't seem to find the post =(. But I recall that TattingChic also did this one last year during fall right here! The pattern for this leaf can be found here!"

Tatting Chic is tatting like an Egyptian. She has got some Egyptian threads from Wally and shows us how you tat like an Egyptian (thanks I have Walk Like an Egyptian running through my head HA HA) She has tatted this heart from Wallys book "From my Heart"

Wally has tatted some pretties for on a tshirt for her mom. Her mom has sewn 3 buttons on her tshirt and Wally has made the 4th into a brooch.

Coasters, patterns and gifts...

Wanda has finished her BEAUTIFUL coasters she is also sharing the pattern with us. THANKS WANDA!! She tatted them using Handy Hands Lizbeth thread size 20 in variegated green #144 and dark red # 670. This is her #21 of her 25 Motif Challenge.

Jeanne has tatted some tiny white stars and added the pattern for us on her PATTERN BLOG THANKS JEANNE!! The following photos are of the stars on the wedding arrangements Photo 1 is of the Mothers Corsages, Photo 2 is of Brides Bouquet, Photo 3 is of the Brides Maids Bouquets and Photo 4 is of the Church Arrangements behind the altar. Diane is finding it hard to tat this summer with all she is doing but has found time to tat this very lovely snowflake called Magic Moment, Jon Yusoff's latest pattern, Magic Moment. Diane tatted it with Lizbeth Violet/Pink Med. #634, size 20. Sooo pretty Diane and Thanks to Jon for sharing yet another BEAUTIFUL pattern with us. Diane also said on her blog "Now, I've decided to pay it forward. When Jon introduced this pattern, she held an unannounced drawing, and I am the winner! Snowflakes, Flowers, Bookmarks, and Doilys

This is my first post so bear with me folks. If I forgot anyone I am sorry.

Mica tatted this snowflake she says she actually wanted to finish it in June but didn't get there until early July "The little guy is "Little Ring Snowflake" from Tatted Snowflakes. It is tatted with Kreinik No. 4 braid. " Laura Rose has been busy working but managed some crafty bits. You will see here a counted cross stitch which reminds her of her cat Sox. She is planning on framing it and hanging it in her classroom when he gets it. The next photos are of some French Beading she has been doing. She has also received some nice gifts in the mail. She is also working on a little Bucks edging she plans on using for her first grand baby. Congrats Laura Rose :)

Vinnie hasn't had a lot of time for tatting lately but decided to take upon the challenge of making a heart of a six sided snowflake she came up with this using red and mint green. She still has her filet crochet project going on and has made this lovely bag to hold it in. Shirley has been tatting up a storm here are her motifs 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 & 17. First is a snowflake using the new Christmas thread from Lisbeth size 20 the snowflake measures 4" and she is not sure where the pattern came from. Next is a bookmark she tatted for her son at his request. Next is a thumb rosary and 2 small angels she plans on making and donating to "the Preemie Project" at the Univ. Hospital for them to sell at their craft show.

Ellen has tatted this bookmark for a co-worker who is leaving the office its one of her favorites from Dianna Stevens' Animal Bookmarks - A Tatted Zoo. She has been working on more ATC's with tatting and paper cutting. Ellen also says "This is my 99th post! I'm thinking of a giveaway in my next post. Watch the space!" (meaning her blog)

Mrs. John her #12 motif is a doily that she entered in the local county fair. The pattern: the Occasional Doily from Tatting Doilies and Edgings,edited by Rita Weiss, Dover 1980. The pattern specified size 10 thread and she used natural size 10. This motif was needle tatted. She also did a lovely hand dyed thread display.

Aileen has been busy as well she tatted a hanky edging found in the Handy Hands Newsletter. She got some neat shuttles from the Shuttle Shop. She is giving credit for her tatting pals whom she received exchanges with, you will have to visit her blog for those lovely pictures there are quite a few. Valentines towel exchange, This is the tape measure she sent to Laura, Birthday exchange from Jon, Loopylacer's charm exchange, Angel Roundrobin, Angel Roundrobin, Thread exchange, and Intatters Butterfly Exchange.
Anne is working on this lovely piece and says "Finally some warm and lazy days after a rather cool summer so far. With the possibility of tatting in outdoors."

Diane has been inspired by Tattycat to tat some snowflakes. The pattern is Itsy-Bitsy Snowflake from A Veritable Tatted Blizzard by Samantha Melnychuk.

Heather has some new hand dyed threads and plans on doing a benefit craft sale for a friend who has stage 4 breast cancer. She is still looking for some donated crafts to sell see the blog for details.

Jeff has tatted his 23rd motif and its a book mark he says "This leaf was made using Yarnplayer's Summer Trail HDT in size 30. As you can see I turned the motif into a bookmark by making a length of lock stitch chain where the stem is. I really like the way it turned out." I like it too its very nice! He is also working on chainmaille.

Sherry had done a "mountain" of HDT and spent a good half hour hunting her kitty Raku who decided to try the top shelf of a closet for a napping spot.

Wally has finished a beautiful collar, Jons Magic Moment snowflake and a beautiful fairy hair and flower hair pin. I really love that hair pin.

Hearts, Butterflies, Coasters and Doilies

Brigitte tatted earrings for herself using Marilee's HDT Rhubarb Pie size 30 and pink beads. The pattern is by Elizabeth Zipay.
Laurette found a unique way to display her tatted doily. This multicolour doily is a pattern that she found online, but can't remember where. It's made with Lizbeth Carousel thread size 20 and she thinks if she makes it again she'll do the inner chains in white to better show off the inner rings.
Linda has finished the first of 2 Christmas stockings for her niece. This one embellished with tatting will be entered in the county fair. The tatted heart Flag Pin is worked in size 20 Flora and Lizbeth threads. The pattern is by B.J. Heisler and can be found at Heisler's Creative Stitchery.
Krystle tatted the chain rosette with some extra bling in the form of matching pink Swarovski crystals. She calls the pattern "garden Jewel earrings". The earring and necklace set in black are going to her sister. The white rosette earrings are going in to her Etsy shop.
Wanda kicked back for Tatting Tea Tuesday and made these lovely pairs of red and variegated thread coasters.Only one more to go.
Alan created this gorgeous cross based on a bonnet pattern in Aunt Ellen's Tatting Handbook. He has his ordination service coming up on Sunday and if that wasn't reason enough to celebrate, he has been awarded a Folk Art Fellowship by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Mississippi Arts Commission in the amount of $4400 for my tatting. Bravo! Applause! Applause! Congratulations! Well Done!
Bev received a lovely surprise in the mail a beautiful Martha Ess butterfly and a sunshiny gold doily from her friend Diane L. The butterfly card is for her friend in Sweden tatted in Rainbow Bright HDT fromPamela Meyers) the butterfly is designed by Marty.
Diane finished Susan K. Fuller's Heart's Desire in Coral Reef by Tatskool.
Moni has completed an assortment of motifs and left the ends as it will be easier to sew these medallions onto lavender bags in this way. The small rings on the chains are Josephine rings and it's similar to Vinnies idea. The finished results are wonderful.
