Motifs, Bracelet, Necklaces, Edging, Letter, Butterflies, Doilies, Bookmarks, Hearts, Earrings, Pin, Fairy, Collar and Flowers

Margaret has mastered the interlocking rings using Lizbeth no 20 Raspberry Frappe although it looks purple in the picture. This is the bracelet from Marilee's course called Classic Edge, but not having a lot of size 10 she used Altin Basak #3054 so she had to do a few more rings on the pattern.

Marie tatted another daisy switching the colours to Lizbeth size 20 in Leaf Green and Autumn Spice. Another Daisy in Mountain Breeze and Leaf Green.

Garyo bought some new Clover shuttles and she finds that they are a bit thicker that the old ones which means they hold more thread, but they are a little more uncomfortable to hold especially with small hands.

Kristen has tatted the letter F to do a set of monogram coasters for a wedding gift for her brother.

Linda share a honey of a CQ block with a tatted dragonfly. A tatted wheel decorates her August block.

Diane took Miranda's Tat This challenge and used a 10 ring centre to tat the first doily. Then she learned that the doily was actually the first rounds of Nancy Tracy's Mom's Pink Doily, so she did it again in green following Nancy's pattern and there is quite a difference in size. The grandchildren were on hand for the day and got to choose their favourite laces to take home. Then they chose thread and asked grandma to make a doily, a heart, and a star and Lily chose size 40 Lizbeth, #137, Berry Burst and Mom's Pink Doily by Nancy Tracy, but just the first 3 rounds.

Fox tatted this design by Julie Patterson in HDT by Tatskool with sparkly blue thread from Suneeti. The Heart for Misha pattern is available now in her Etsy shop. Frivole was going to make earrings by decided instead to use Karey Solomon's County Fair HDT with Lizbeth in Natural to make a brooch based on the same layered flower idea. She added the dangly pearls at different lengths and with different size freshwater pearls. They are attached with tiny Josephine knots to give added texture and interest. Here are the earrings she made for herself with Karey's threads. She played a bit more with the interlocking rings in this two-tone neutral colour rosette to make a brooch for her mother but she wasn't satisfied with the results. Edwige Renaudin teasingly put a picture of this motif in her book saying the method would be in the next book and Frivole was challenged to give it a try and she likes the effects of the rolled ring. Here is Mary's Butterfly tatted in Jess's hand-dyed thread called Havana.

Jess's daughter received a tooth fairy card in the mail from Mrs. Sarah adorned with Jane Eborall's Fairy and lots for tatted flowers. Jess has tatted more motifs on buttons. Here is Heart for Misha by Fox in size 40 Lizbeth Gold and a special HDT with a shell doughnut bead for the middle. Another motif on a button was attached to layers of tulle around a ring for a suncatcher.

Kathy used Lizbeth Spring Garden size 20 to tat these interlocking rings then mounted it on a black velvet disk for a pendant. The lace collar is designed by Gloria Crowther and sits on her necklace display stand.

Michelle tatted Fox's Heart for Misha in size 80 vintage thread. She tatted Eye Spy from Julie Patterson Just Marking Tome with Mindanao Gum colorway, size 40 thread from Jess.

Orsi doesn't like to tat with beads but she had an experiment with this little flower motif.

Sue's MIL hung these suncatchers from paperclips around the lampshade. The Band-Aid Heart by Vicki Clarke is tatted in size 10 Lizbeth Latte Foam, and the heart is done in size 40 Lizbeth Raspberry Pink Med.

Wanda tatted a Graduation Cross Bookmark based on an old pattern done in Lizbeth #115 "Springtime" size 20.

The Guidelines

1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.
3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.

Marie received Field of Clover bookmark in a tatting exchange. The Clover Drop Heart by Nancy Tracy was done with vintage size 80 Star thread. The pattern by Mrs. W.M. Odum, called Tatted Daisy was made with Lizbeth size 20 in Autumn Spice and Leaf Green.

Lelia entered a lot of items in the county fair. In Wearable Art she won a fifth place with a Kanzashi flower embellished with tatting and buttons, the Holiday, Special Event Tatted Bell designed by Merie Lettieri won second place. In Miscellaneous Crafts her Mixed Media Needlecase decorated front and back with tatting won first place and in Miscellaneous Needlecraft, the butterfly won second place.

Anita has scattered tatted leaves across a quilt block Hosting and Celebrating Family.

Julie shares a favourite treasure, a doily tatted by her grandmother which looks lovely, but her grandmother said she would never tat with the rayon or some type of synthetic thread again.

Kristen finished her tatting for the state fair, which coincidentally also finished her 25th motif.

Nancy saw a bracelet by Elena Koval she just had to tat. Row 1 and 2 were pretty straight forward, but row 3 adds beads and lots of drama. Made with Lizbeth size 20 thread in the color of Latte Foam with 8mm beads.

SunshineCraft is working on the doily, but using some HDT created by her kids means she has to be careful and mix and match to make it stretch.

Diane finished her second round of Miranda's challenge doily and noticed the posting that the doily is actually the first 3 rounds of Mom's Doily by Nancy Tracy. Her Mom wants to frame the finished piece done in size 20 Lizbeth, color #163, Blue Ice. Her sister wants one in green and now that the design has been identified she's following Nancy Tracy's pattern. She didn't make a lot of changes to the pattern but her version is visibly different.

Fox is most appreciative of all the outpouring of thoughts and well wishes and even though this is a difficult time she's still managing to tat. She has been working of interlocking rings and getting frustrated by them. The test tatting of her Heart for Misha is going well with samples done by Umintsuru and Ladytats. Her own concentration isn't working so well as you can see. She has switched to working in bright colours to see if it helps to pick up her mood.

Frivole has been working with Yarnplayer's Tourmaline HDT making these flowers based on the layered flowers from Edwige Renaudin's book, and matched with green semi-precious rhyolite they made a really pretty necklace. Edwige Renaudin's book, La Frivolité aux Navettes, has interlocked rings, and a chain made of interlocked split rings.

Jess has been making more motifs on a button. For this first one she sewed a button onto a circle of felt, sewed a second piece of felt to it with a headband sandwiched between and added is Jon's Galuh motif from Elegant Tatting Gems done in size 40 My Bleeding Heart HDT. This little flower is tatted in Tat-ilicious size 40 Everything Nice and mounted on felt on a barrette. The coin purse is almost finished it just needs the edging around the flap and a button.

Sherry is still feeling down in the dumps, but she had enough enthusiasm to tat these two stars in white size 10 just to play with stitch count and continuous tatting.

Sue loves the look of the Swirl Snowflake from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman tatted here in size 100 Rainbow Bright HDT from Tatskool. The Treble Clef dangles are for a couple of guitar players she knows. The first one is tatted in size 10 rainbow thread and the second is tatted in size 40 Rainbow-licious.

Wanda was so intent on getting the wedding album done that she didn't plan her tatting for the trip home and had to make do with the colours she had. That resulted in these two motifs and emptying a lot of shuttles.
