Flowers, Motif, Cross, Edging, Necklace, and a Dragonfly

Mary shows us her little crocheted bear with his swing covered with tatted flowers.

As usual, Orsi is thinking of tatting in terms of fabric and she has in mind to create something in black with white flowers between. She is thinking of beads in the Josephine knots and the black thread is finer than the white, but it isn't quite what she wants yet.

Kat has tatted the Pernille cross from Lene Bjorn's tatted crosses book with Lilac Dk in Lizbeth 20.

Fox is nearing the finish line of this tatted border and the white of white picture doesn't show it well, but there are sparkly little beads on all the joins that give it a delicate glitter.

Isa has finished her necklace. The round motif has an added heart shaped drop and the undulating band is a perfect match for it.

Vanessa tatted the dragonfly by Umi and Tsuru and has him perched on the pear tree under the watchful eye of the goose.

Motif, Bookmarks, Cross and a Cardinal

The Guidelines

1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.
3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.
---------------

Orsi has continued her experiment with the Napoleon theme motifs and her newest edition is a triangular shape.
Nancy loves jellybeans. The bookmark pattern by Kendra Goodnow is found in the fall 2010 Handy Hands newsletter.
Bev aka BJ is ready to start a beaded butterfly bookmark, but decided to do a refresher on tatting with beads first.

Brigitte went to the the annual Lace Embrace meeting and bought two colors of Venus Size 40 thread which she tried out the by making this tiny cross from Patty Duff's book Mini Tats and some size 15 beads.
Kathy tatted Miranda's awesome cardinal using size 20 Christmas Lizbeth, and mounted it in a hinged 4x3 inch glass fixture.

Necklaces, Bracelets, Earrings, Doily, Bookmarks, Motifs and Heart

Rayanna loves Mark's patterns and here she's started on Mark's Autumn Pumpkin.
Marta created this pendant in black with an amber coloured centre stone and gold bead accents and a matching black and gold bracelet. She did another version of the bracelet in a creamy caramel colour.

Kat has been working on Mary Konior's Patchwork and she was planning on a square mat, but now that she has gone this far she's thinking about making it rectangular.
Corina started on this poorly written design in green and white Altin Basak 50 but cut it off when it wasn't working out. She used the remaining thread to tat this Laced bookmark by Kim Millar and she's not sure whether to use it as a bookmark, or a bracelet.

Linda received some special gifts from friends, a bookmark with a knitted centre and tatted edge from a red hat girlfriend and her Secret Tatting Angel mailed her this beautiful pincushion decorated all around with tatting.

Brigitte tatted this shuttle pattern by Anne Bruvold using Lizbeth Size 20 thread in medium and light seafoam green.
Fox has completed her interesting design which turned out to be Rosemarie Peel's Tussie Mussie from the 30th Anniversary Book of Patterns published by the Ring of Tatters and while it was an interesting tat, it was far too fiddly.
Isa has progressed on her pendant, but it's not finished yet. She still has to finish the collar part.

Lily followed up on a suggestion to tat the pendant and earrings in blue with green chains to give the appearance of flowers and vines.

Marty found one more little Celtic heart done in size 30 Cebelia when she turned out her tatting bag.

Snowflake, Doily, Cross, Flowers, Bookmarks, Butterfly and Motifs

Deborah joins the challenge and shows us Miranda's Angels in the Snow done in Lizbeth thread but she's not sure of the colour.
Crazykwilter did the from “Alexandra” in Tatting Patterns by Lyn Morton, followed by two rounds of typical small rings and chains, ending with a round of trefoils in size 30 Cebelia.
Kat is on a roll tatting crosses from Lene Bjorn's book of Tatted Crosses. This is the Maria cross needle tatted in Lizbeth antique blue medium.
Isabel tatted this flower brooch using the pattern from Bestitched in DMC metallic blue and 8 strands of gold embroidery thread. The mystery Josephine knot design has had some pom poms added and turns out to be a chignon.

Wanda has been working on her bookmark from the inside out, tweaking it here and there, but she's still not satisfied with it.
Gina has finished her dagger heart flowers and has gone back to the insertions, trying a couple of variations with beads.

Isa tatted this motif from a Russian website klubochek.org using 2 shuttles and crystal beads that she will turn into a brooch. This new motif is in progress and she's not quite sure where she's going with it.

Lily test tatted Jessica's pattern in Boysenberry dark size 20 in Lizbeth with a periwinkle blue perle cotton and loves the way it turned out. Then she tried out an idea based on Miranda's Angels in the Snow with more thrown off rings, and a 3 bead picot to the bottom ring. She had to stiffen it to get it to hold the inner ring shape and is thinking of doing it again around a metal ring.

Cross, Snowflake, Edgings, TIAS, Bracelet, Motif, Hearts and Flowers

Kat tatted the Monica cross from Tatted cross-shaped Bookmarks by Lene Bjorn in Lizbeth Boysenberry dk for a friend. Her friend sent her this delicate snowflake to see if she could tat something similar.
Tatteristic has been tatting the Mary Konior pattern, Duet, from her book, Tatting with Visual Patterns in Lizbeth Wildflower size 40 combined with white cotton thread. It was fun to work on once she got started and she would have kept going, except that she ran out of thread.
Sunshinecraft tatted Jane's TIAS in blue Altin Basak metallic polyester and the silver is another brand of thread that isn't as nice to tat with. There was still some thread on the shuttle and some beads from a a bracelet the little lady broke so she is making her a new bracelet with it.

IsDihara has been tatting Orsi's Nelson edging in size 30 Bali HDT by Backwoods Tatter and size 40 Lizbeth colour #663. She noticed that the Lizbeth thread was a bit more crisp.
Diane has tatted the viney edging again, this time using size 20 "Fern" by Yarnplayer. It still isn't quite right.

Fox is making progress, both in her tatting and in her stash reduction. You know what this means, don't you? As soon as the stash gets pared down to a manageable size, she will suddenly find she needs those threads she has just divested herself of.
Gina loves the look of Victats Dagger Heart, but doesn't really have a need for hearts after Valentines day. That's OK because she has discovered that when it's done in bright spring colours and has a pearl tatted stem added it becomes a lovely flower. So now she has a whole bouquet waiting for stems.

Lily has just finished test tatting Jessica's split ring bracelet and she'll work on the other patterns later.
