Angie's trying out an antique edging. I think it's lovely and looks like butterflies.




Ancolie has done little size 80 motifs and has called them Bagatelles.


Neophyte's done lovely little bell earrings with the Yarnplayer pattern which can be found here.


Claudia's taking part in the Spanish Tatting Challenge for original patterns. I especially love the one with the crossed picots.


Nita's been practising dimpled rings and tatted a motif from Minitats with #20 Cebelia.


Ellen shows us the bag she did up for Usha in the Bag exhcnage. I'm so jealous. She has also done a bookmark from her paperclip heart. She also had a new book to add to her tatting library. Terry's been making lovely bookmarks just like Jane. Lovely they are.


BJ made the deadline for the tatting towel valentines exchange and she tells us about her experience during Superbowl.

Diane's used the last round of the Daffodil Doiley from Learn to tat as an edging. It looks gorgeous. Nice work.


Margaret couldn't sleep and decided to tat a small flower from Sharon's book.

Butterflies, Hearts, Snowflakes and Microdragons

The Guidelines

1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.
3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.

Krystle did the Iris Niebach pattern on needles before and had some trouble with it but this time she used shuttles. Her next piece is a pattern by Birgit Phelps, called Kira's star and she added graduated picots to the inner chains which makes a nice variation to the pattern.
Christine found this metal gift card case at AC Moore and was amazed at how much it looked like the Heart’s Desire pattern from Susan Fuller she did in white DMC Cebelia 30. She used 2 shades of pink DMC Pearl Cotton size 8 for this bookmark pattern by Lenore English and found it is easier than it looks.
Hye-Soon has tatted the lovely cross and a wonderful butterfly both done in hand dyed threads.
Kelly had a bit of a challenge needle tatting Anne's pattern for her microdragon tatted in DMC size 30. The pattern from Debbie Arnolds site ds9designs is going to be a birthday gift for someone who is from the U.S. and now lives in Canada, made in size 10 thread. Her motif #11 is Nancy Tracy's pattern and made in DMC size 30 that she likes to call her heart of gold.
Tattingchic has started another WIP and has already had to perform surgery on it.
Ais tatted Jon's Quantiesque snowflake in white Perle cotton size 5 but she plans on tatting it again in colour.
Wally has tatted Anne's microdragon and named it Ayla. The she made Jane's beaded butterflies and another of Jane's beaded patterns, this one a dangly flower.

Tatting Galore and More

Krystle accomplished two things with her butterfly. She now knows how to do the onion ring technique and this is motif #5 for the challenge.

Connie has tatted motif #3. This design is from Tatting For Today motif #19. The thread is Ricky Tim's Razzle Dazzle and she added pale blue clear seed beads to the picots on the outer edge.

Kyoung-mi has tatted a fish that was designed by her tatting teacher Sherry for motif #21 of the challenge.

Charlotte is developing the thread stash bug that seems to afflict all tatters. She has just received some beautiful HDT and also found a deal on Ancora Prestige thread that she just could not pass up.

Jill has used two Mary Konior patterns for her motifs #7&8. One called Backchat and the other is a cross.

Vinnie has started an Indian tatting group on Etatters, so if you are from India please see her blog for a link.
Ancolie has tatted a beautiful heart for her DH for Valentines day. I am sure he is going to love it.

Claudia took part in the on-line classroom and she tatted Ellen Lai's hearts on paperclips which count as motifs 18,19,20 and 21.

Heather has been very kind and she has posted the pattern for the cute little flower that she has made. Thank you Heather.

Shirley has made motifs #2,3 and 4. The variegated purple snowflake is from Jon Yusoff's wonderful "Tatted Snowflake Collection". It is the one named "Pirouette" and is done is size 70 thread. The color # is long gone. It measures almost 3" across using that size thread.
The small bookmark is taken from Mary Maynard's "Tatting Rings of Flowers". The thread is DMC size 80, color #66. This is flower #57 and in that size thread measures just 1".
The 3rd motif is from Jon's Patterns Page. It is the 'Quantiesque' Snowflake.




Nita has tatted motif #2 in a pretty vareigated pink.



Terry has made a beautiful window hanger. The pattern is from Tatting Lace by Teiko Fujito. It's done in Altin Basak thread.



Diane has been struggling with Daffodil Doily from Learn to Tat. She finally figured it out and she posts some helpful hints if you are going to tat this doily.



Jeff shows us a picture of Karey Soloman's Dragonet and some thread that he bought himself for his birthday.







Maria has finished her motif #9.
