Motifs, Snowflakes, Bookmarks, Hearts, Necklace and Mask

The Guidelines

1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.
3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.

BSOTF has tatted a triangle with Aunt Lydia's red & JP Coats white.

Nami created a set of brooches for an exchange with Ollci. Sue is continuing to make her blizzard of snowflakes. The newest one is the Ribbon Floss Snowflake from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman. She made a number of these snowflakes when she first learned to tat. The beaded snowflake is Heather's design, but she forgot to string the beads on first and had to add them using joins. For a change of pace she made Jon's dragonfly which turned out really well. Then back to snowflakes she tatted the Unique Snowflake and the second is the Cloverleaf Snowflake both from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman. She tatted more of Jon Yusoff's dragonfly pattern, the first is done in Lizbeth Caribbean size 20 with tiny purple beads, and the second is white size 10 with orange beads.
Agasunset had one of those moments when an apparently failed project was perfect for a different purpose and a new mask was born with a matching new necklace.
Cindy is finding that sewing in all of the ends a lot of motifs is a chore, but the MT trick is creating so many loops in her work that it's frustrating.

Wanda's blog is sporting a tatted flag and red and blue star for Independence Day.
Aileen has a lot of alphabet beads leftover from making scissors fobs and she has incorporated them into tatted bookmarks. Yarnplayer's simple butterfly bookmark in perle 8, Jane Eborall's Butterfly bookmark in size 20 Milford with size 11/0 beads and Kersti Anear's Tabatha in size 20 Milford. The necklace is Kersti Anear's Half Moon Dreaming in size 10 being modeled here by her sister.

Fox is still working on clunies, then there was a little problem so she started again. The orange motif that Maeve's older brother wanted mysteriously came apart. So, she tatted one in his favourite colour, and added orange beads. With persistence she managed to complete Elisadusud's pattern in Yarnplayer's 'Celery' HDT, #40. She also completed a tatted ring for Agasunset using some of the metallic thread that Suneeti sent her. It was a bear to tat with but the effect is lovely.

Shirley finally gets to show us what happened to all the hearts she did. Here they are appliqued onto a wedding blanket. Each of the ladies contributed what they did best making this labour of love into a unique gift. What an awesome treasure!
