Erisnyx made the Autumn bookmark by Mark Myers for her Grandfather's birthday in Lizbeth size 80, #603 and #138. This Easy Bookmark from Learn to Tat by Janette Baker was made for her niece in Lizbeth size 20, #135 and #647. She was invited to a baby shower for three of her friends and decided to make Jane Eborall's Baby Buggy for each of them. The pink one done in Lizbeth size 20, #621 and #132, turned out really cute. These sea green colours in in Lizbeth size 20, #686 and #688 make for a nice simple design that would work well for any baby. The blue buggy, Lizbeth size 20, #657 and #143 has the lighter blue from the variegated thread positioned in the centre.
Diane had some unplanned down time due to forgetting to set the clock ahead, which resulted in the Jan Stawasz doily having this row nearly three quarters done. She spent a little time working on Renulek's Spring Doily and one shuttle ran out of thread, so it's time to do some winding. Aero bobbin shuttles take 9-10 yards of size 20 thread and are wound in about 2 minutes, which is yet another reason why I love bobbin shuttles-just imagine how much extra tatting time that gives me in a year.
Marie found this pattern in the Complete Book of Tatting, by Rebecca Jones and made it in rainbow thread.
Sue test tatted this cross design by Elaine P. Gan, but made a mistake on one of the arms that left it a little wonky. This next one is called Iron Cross which looks very iron-y in black with silver beads but she decided on a variegated pastel without the beads.
Wanda made her Emma edging in colours, it's just that they are very muted colours. Lizbeth #691 Mocha Brown Medium and #693 Linen Medium, both in size 10 are a nice subtle pairing. This is a sample in size 20, Lizbeth #602 Natural and #658 Ocean Turquoise Light, just because that's what she had wound on the shuttles. She used size 10 for the edging because it covers more edge faster, it doesn't look as delicate as it would with smaller thread, but for table runners where the lace hangs over the edge of the table the heavier thread works better.

Earrings, Birds, TIAS, Goat, Baby Carriage, Boat, Snowflakes, Motifs, Angel, Alphabet, Bracelet, Baby Booties, Heart, Doilies, Ornaments and Crosses
Gwen finished off last year tatting several sets of earrings as Christmas gifts and has decided to join the challenge again for 2015.
Mary Lena tatted a new pair of earrings, this time light purple colour with white seed beads and black glass beads.
JulieP likes to try out Jane Eborall's designs as soon as she sees them and the Hummingbird was no exception, done in Lizbeth size 20 Rainbow Splash #184. Here is TIAS day 3 which he mother thinks might be a flower.
Chantal's first search of the internet turned up Jane's goat and that introduced her to Jane's popular TIAS which included the baby carriage, and the sailboat and this year, well, we'll have to tat it to see what it is.
Manisha tatted a snowflake from Lene Bjørn’s 24 Snowflakes in Tatting in blue just because that was what was wound on the shuttles.
Jenn test tatted these 3 motifs for Elaine P Gan and they were all fun and quick to tat.
Erisnyx meant to post these right after Christmas, but got busy with other things. December 2013 Snowflake, by Sharon Briggs done in done in Lizbeth size 80, #601, #638, and #671. Design Tutorial Snowflake, by Robin Perfetti done in Lizbeth size 20, #152 and #671. Another of Sharon's patterns tatted in Lizbeth size 20, #152. The Celtic Style Christmas Wreath pattern is by Birgit Phelps worked in Lizbeth size 20, #152 and # 671. Celtic style wreath done again without the last row just because she liked how it looked. The Five-Pointed Star is from the book Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns, by Monica Hahn in Lizbeth size 20, #151. Star of Leaves pattern is from the same book tatted in Lizbeth size 20, #152. This pattern is Snowflake 16, which she did in the same thread, but she doesn't know where the pattern came from. This angel is from a Nativity pattern by Jenni Sherriff and tatted in size 10 and she plans on doing the rest of the pattern at a later date. The teacup and saucer, done in Lizbeth size 20, #633, #640, and #647 is a pattern she's been planning on doing for a long time. All of this lovely tatting means she has finished her first 25 Motif Challenge and she decided to start again right away. She drew her grandfather's name for Christmas and tatted the letters for Families Are Forever using the alphabet from The Tatters' Paradise and roses from Vicki Clarke's Roses are Red pattern in Lizbeth size 20, #656, and #657 with the Roses tatted in DMC size 30, yellow.
Sue has day 3 of TIAS done. Here she shows the difference between size 40 and 20 on these earrings. Marilee Rockley has this gorgeous Linnea Bracelet pattern, but since she can't get lovely thread colours in size 10 thread, she's modified it to work in size 20 and here's the first row done. Here's the next part of the TIAS.
Lelia has never joined to a button before so this TIAS was a new experience for her.
NancyD tatted baby booties for her anticipated granddaughter in Princess Cinderella Blue.
Grace tatted A Little Owl by Barbara Payne which makes delightful earrings. Here's her TIAS day 2.
Claire used Lizbeth size 20, Ocean Sunset # 155 on this pattern from Be-stitched. Day 3 of TIAS.
Diane is working on her doily with 6 motifs around the outside. TIAS day 3. Seven motifs done. Eight motifs done. Or maybe not as a mistake has been found. Ten motifs done! TIAS day 4.
Fox TIAS day 2 and 3. Fox has more motifs done on her doily. The red doily is growing but as usual Fox is having problems with the Lizbeth thread. She thinks the TIAS is a Cicada. She's at the eighth motif of her large doily.
Lilas was delighted with the recommendation of polyester embroidery thread which she doubled to approximate the size of DMC 80. Even though it was fine enough for tiny beads it was still quite strong when used for this trial Ankars rose and better still it's a thread she can get in her local shop.
Marie found these mini tree ornaments at a local yard sale, but they needed a little something, so she added some tatting.
Martha, who makes such brilliant and charming patterns like those found in Tea is for Tatting, Flights of Fantasy, Tat's Amore and others has recently found that pages of her books are showing up on Pinterest. These are stolen patterns which have been copied from her books and posted on Pinterest without her permission. Pinterest has said they will have the offending items removed within 24 hours, but they are being re-Pinned at an alarming rate and the trouble seems to have originated from a Russian site. If anyone speaks Russian and can help, please contact Martha. Likewise, if you see pages from her books on Pinterest please let her know. Our designers work hard to create awesome designs that they share with us and it isn't right or fair that they lose the small amount they make from their books because of things like this. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we need to police ourselves and protect our designers or we'll lose them. If you can help, contact Martha.
Muskaan saw this design but couldn't find a patterns for it and she began creating her own then she discovered that it was Jenny L Seymour & Georgia Seitz from Georgia Seitz's Round Robin for Beginners.
Sue tatted a cross in size 40 Lizbeth Orange Crush using the Amelie pattern from Tatted Bookmarks-cross shaped by Lene Bjorn for one of the ladies in her Sunday night group. Wanda has joined the TIAS crowd. She's not sure what it is, but as Jane hasn't done any plants, she's wondering if this might be one.
