motifs, Dragonflies, Angels, TIAS, Bracelet, Heart, Snowflakes, Doilies, Edging and Butterflies

Lelia tatted motif #39 from Minitats by Patti Duff in Lizbeth size 20, colour #155 - Ocean Sunset. The next motif from Minitats was made in size 20 Lizbeth, colour #170. The dragonfly, on the right, is a free pattern by Jon Yusoff tatted in size 20, Lizbeth color 119, with Mill Hill beads. The little blue motif is her own design. Her little Namaste Buddy case that she uses to hold her tatting tools is showing wear, but sadly the new ones don't come in lime green. Lelia's 41st motif is also from Patti Duff's Mintats done in Lizbeth colour 611, size 20.

Ginny is having a Christmas tree on display at the Ward O'Hara Museum in Auburn and she's working an angel for it. Here it is with the dress made and the tatting started.

Nancy decided that after tatting this little angel by Martha Ess with lots of cuts and ties, she it was time to learn how to tat a split chain. This second angel made split chains has a smaller halo and is hanging on a handmade ornament holder. Now she will look at patterns in a new light. She tatted this checkerboard for her daughter in Lizbeth's Charcoal Med. and Silver in size 20 using Mary Konior's Eightsome Reel from A Pattern Book of Tatting.

Carrie has finished her TIAS and her Piccadilly Express just needs a little blocking. She tatted these bracelets based on the bookmark pattern in Jeanette Baker's Learn To Tat done in Lizbeth size 20 black and size 20 Jellybean. The Tattered Heart from Lindsay Rogers' book Tatting Collage is made in Aunt Lydia's size 10 victory red. Birgit's Small Star is tatted in DMC size 5 white and ecru and she hopes to make a few of this combination in size 10.

Diane was able to wind 15 yards of size 20 Lizbeth thread on her new Sunlit shuttle. That was enough for Mary Konior's Flower Fragment and thread left over for a couple more. Here are the three fragments together, size 3, size 10, and size 20. She has finished four rounds of Doily 4 from Tatted Fashion by Teiko Fujito and it's now 5 1/2" across.

Fox didn't succumb to the impulse to throw out her pattern instructions and her remaining thread. Instead she made 4 scary cuts into the row below to repair the doily. Here it is with the repairs done and she can't even see where she did it. Now she's half way through round 5 instead of back on row one.

Kristen has finished her TIAS and motif #34 which is #1 on her way to 25 by the 25th of December. This is another project she is working on. Last weekend she taught her first tatting class and by the end of it all 6 students could tat rings and chains. One even brought a completed motif to work the next day!

Margaret tatted these hanky edgings using a pattern Mary gave her and
Turkish Altin Basak thread no 50. The edging she was making in Cyprus is also done in Altin Basak thread no 50 and is the same pattern with a ring thrown off the top of the chains.

Marie loves this little 3-D butterfly, designed by Jane. This one was made with Lizbeth, size 40, pink cocoa. The next one was done with Lizbeth, size 20, Springtime and Leaf Green med. The last one is done in Lizbeth, size 40, Scottish Thistle and Leaf Green med.

Martha won second place in tatting but forgot to take a picture. However she did have a picture of last year's entry, a Tina Frauberger design worked in Karey's hand painted threads. Her other entry is her variation on an Anne Orr edging.
