Doilies, Edgings, Motifs, Bracelet, Seahorse, and a Rose

My apologies for infrequent posts. I've been down with the flu for over a week now and just haven't the energy to keep up with the challenge more.

Anika dyed the thread so that she could tat this doily. Then she started another doily for a friend and is working on the fourth round of it. The edging for the hanky is coming slowly because the edging she chose to do is quite wide. She has plans to do the motifs in the corners in either light pink or the same green.

Magda shows us some of the notecards she prepared using skeletal leaves, satin ribbons, beads and tatting in delightful combinations, suitable for all occasions.

IsDihara is working through Mindy Al-Aaraji's Clover Motif and has completed Round 1. She's using Lizbeth 20 in Christmas Green #638, Mint Light #689 and Snow White #601. This long row of split rings is done in Lizbeth 40 Raspberry Frappé that is a foundation chain for a ring trim braid that will be 36 inches (91.4 cm) long.

Linda shows us a fabric postcard done in CQ and Tatting

Anne is about half way through the baby blanket she was working on, but now she has decided to add about 30 tatted motifs.

Cindy has begun another tatting project just as a break from all the preserves she has going on. Mmmm jams, jellies and canned fruit. Love the results, hate the work.

Diane has decided that it's better to call it free style and 3D tatting, not forgetting to switch shuttles or making the centre ring and picots too small. That's my kind of thinking. Briar Fragments in size 40 Lizbeth, Col. 126 from Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konior helped to set things right again. Or it did the second time around. After that success she went back to the Motif from The 3rd Tatting Book by Kirstine Nikolajsen and Inge Lise Nikolajsen done in Anika's HDT and with a little blocking, it even lays flat.

Fox loves the motif from The Tatters Treasure Chest but she has fallen out of love with the perle size 8 thread especially since this design needs a a nice crisp thread. She made several tries on this one and thinks there might be an error in the pattern and she's gaining enough confidence in her ability to tat what the photo shows and not necessarily what the instructions say.

Kelly has a lovely day at the waterfront visiting another tatter who let her select beads and thread and then proceeded to make this wave bracelet for her. She also gave her this lovely tatted seahorse, one of Deb Arnolds' patterns, made with metallic threads and beads. To top it all off, Fox traveled down to meet her and they had a very tatty and chatty day and Fox was able to give her some input on her clovers.

Martha is looking for some test tatters.

Orsi has plans to make some more tablecloths and the first will be white damask with tatted a edging that will be about six meters long.

Vanessa spent a day with the Queensland Tatters where Judith Connors helped them to tat this 3-D rose that was designed by Jeanne Lugert. Vanessa had done it before but it didn't sit right and some hands on instruction really helped get it perfect. This one went on a decoration on a gift box for a friend.
