Claire used a base angel pattern by Birgit Phelps to tat 4 variations for her cousin's daughters in J&P Coats, Cotton Knit-Cro-Sheen, in what she thinks is size 3. Here's TIAS day 4 which she thinks will be a boat. She decided to tat a heart every month, and send it to her mum who lives in France. They will all be tatted in Lizbeth thread, size 20, in the color Ocean Sunset #155 and the first is Lil’s Heart by Birgit. Day 5 of TIAS and she isn't sure it's a boat any more.
mb duke was all set for some fun tatting when she was reminded that she had promised to tat a tea set for a neighbor. Martha Ess' Maltese Tea Set was done in Lizbeth Royal blue and white then it was mounted in a silver frame to give as a wedding gift. Here is her TIAS after day 4 tatted in Elderberry Jam.
Jessica is making some hand dyed threads with long and gradual colour changes. These samples were done in the colourway that she has named Sea Breeze.
Diane has had some stress on her wrist and elbow, so tatting has been tatking a back seat lately. She did manage to start something new which appears to be her favourite Spinning Wheels pattern.
Fox had to take a break and tatted Sally's snowflake again in size 40 Lizbeth. Day 4 of TIAS and she has no idea what it is. For a relaxing reward she is tatting a small and straightforward pattern using #40 thread. Here is her finished challenge piece, Iris Niebach's, Annalisa in Lisbeth size 80. This beauty bounteously blinged with beads is a design from Tatted Easter Eggs. She is convinced that Day 5 of TIAS must be a windmill.
IsDihara has used Anne Bruvold's Tardis pattern as a base for a communion bookmark done in Lizbeth size 20 Christmas Red. Instead of a tassel she added a beaded dove in Lizbeth size 20 601 Snow White.
Kristen has no idea what Day 2 of TIAS is, but on Day 3 it conforms to the shape of Mary in her nativity set. The 40 tulips doily is done, but not looking spectacular. Blocking has brought out all of it's glory. Day 5 of TIAS has her mystified again.
Marie made this bookmark using up the size 3 thread on her shuttle. Crysta Burr's Crystal Angel with Tatted Wings was tatted with size 20 crochet thread and gold, glitter fabric paint for the halo. The next one was made with colourless crystal and a gold, wire halo. Another angel made with size 20 thread with two strand of gold sewing thread on the tips. The dragonfly earrings were quickly thrown together in Lizbeth size 40 thread. Day 5 of Jane's TIAS is done.
Orsi received a gift from Fox of a beautiful, fine variegated grey color thread in size 80, which she used to tat Mary Konior's Curds and Whey pattern.
Sue tatted a "Sunflower" doily which is actually the Exquisite Luncheon Set from Tatting Doilies & Edgings edited by Rita Weiss. She did it in Lizbeth size 10 Mocha Brown Dk. and Golden Yellow Med and modified it slightly joining the 2 lowest picots on each to give it a little stability. She was given some size 3 thread by a friend and decided to tat her some candle coasters. The first design is her own creation called Flutterby Square due to the butterfly shape inside a square worked in Really Red. The next is a pattern from Tatting Patterns by Lyn Morton called Shamrock, tatted in Green Grass. An altered pattern from Tatting Patterns by Lyn Morton is a star type earring pattern, which she just enlarged to make a coaster done in Lemons. Another design of her own creation is Radiating Butterfly tatted in Asters. Yet another of her original designs is Flowers in Stars, done in in Parakeet. These 2 designs are from Tina Frauberger's Schiffchenspitze done in Lizbeth size 40 Orange Crush, and Raspberry Frappe. The next two were just to play with the new Lizbeth size 40 Rainbow Splash thread and are from Tatting Patterns and Designs by Gun Blomqvist & Elwy Persson. This one is supposed to be a heart from the book Ultimate Book of Tatted Doilies, but doesn't look very heart-like. This thread was dyed by a 6 yr. old boy who named it after his grandpa-Ampie size 20. Silver Charm Suncatcher Ornament from the Big Book of Tatting by Darlene Polachic is attached inside a bangle bracelet. A repeat of her own design own design Flutterby Square tatted in Lizbeth size 40 Raspberry Pink Med. She managed to finish 25 motifs in a year, but not 25 new to her designs, so she plans on trying it again this year.
Wanda tatted the star motif again, this time in Lizbeth #159 Easter Eggs and #638 Christmas Green in size 20. Using 2 colours really identifies which shuttle is being used and highlights the pattern in a different way than when using one colour.
