Jessica got another 2 rows completed on the doily, and promptly cut them off. The adjustments that she made on earlier rows resulted in the outer rows being bigger than the original design and they ruffled. So now she needs to do something with those outer rounds she cut off.
Marta created this winter necklace with a rope of icy beads.
Nancy has Day 6 of TIAS completed.
Diane was 2.25 hours into this monumental 14 inch doily, when she realized that she had an extra picot and a chain 3 in the wrong place, at the beginning of the round. She decided to just finish the round and use this piece in a crazy quilt block where she can do something to hide the mistake.
Fox is using fall colours to work on a doily from Iris Niebach's Tatted Doilies book. She's started it, a time or two, as a break from the Mystery Doily which is growing bigger but she's noticing a bit of ruffling, that she hopes it will work out. Fox entered Renukek's Honey Napkin in a Tatting Competition at the Markham Fair and then forgot about it until she had to go pick it up. She was amazed to find that she had won first prize and the doily had been selected to go on display at the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies Convention in Toronto next February. Congratulations!!!
Kristen enjoyed tatting from "Mastering Tatting" so much that she just decided to keep on tatting motifs from the same book. Ñandutí Motif A is done in size 30 Cebélia, with deliberate white rings on the outside, just because she wanted to see if she could. Ñandutí Motif D again in size 30 Cebélia and finally Ñandutí Motif B also in size 30 Cebélia.
Mica worked in the ends to another one of Jon's snowflakes - this time Hearts in a Snowflake just to have something to blog about. The snowflake is done in DMC Special Dentelles No. 80 in white.

Earrings, Edging, Gloves, Motifs, Heart, Doilies, TIAS, Cat and Necklace
Cigdem used DMC variegated threads in Bonfire and Evergreen Forest colour and orange faceted crystal beads in her Pumpkin Harvest earring design.
Julie found some green hankies with green tatted borders in the antique shop but wasn't excited enough with them to buy them.
Jessica is thrilled with the new Craftsy set up that lets you link to your own pattern store and show pictures of your own patterns on the sidebar.
Marta test tatted Fox' Pine Plains Picot design, one with a metal finding and beads and a version without. Both were tatted with Ariadne thread in creamy Marshmallow and Ada in two shades of beige.
Carrie tatted Birgit's Quick Heart in size 10 variegated pink thread as a reminder to her husband's cousins that they are loved, through the difficult time of their father's passing.
Diane has been asked to make a 14 inch doily for Christmas. She timed the staring round to get an idea of how long this project is going to take and was dismayed to find that it took 20 minutes. There's lots more tatting to go.
Fox received a different version of her Pine Plains Picot from Marta. She used Perfect Quilter thread to tat the fine edging for this delicate hanky. She is taking lots of little breaks, and playing around with random bits of thread, while working on the Mystery Doily in Cèbèlia #30. Surprisingly, she's enjoying working with Cebelia this time. It the change in the thread, or in her tension?
Kristen has day 5 of TIAS done and she can tell her original guess of a unicycle was wrong. The Spiderweb doily is still growing. Day 6 or TIAS is done. The Spiderweb doily is finished and looking so lovely that her husband has suggested framing it. She was playing with a couple of the motifs in Lindsay Rogers' book "Mastering Tatting but they gave her a bit of trouble. With a little perseverance she finished them. Stained Glass Window Variation in Size 10 Lizbeth #136 Autumn Spice and Heart Motif in size 30 Cebélia, White and an antique blue shade. She finds it amazing how different it feels to work with the different sized threads.
Margaret has Day 4 and Day 5 of Sherry's TIAS done working in Lizbeth size 20 Purple Splendor thread.
Marie tatted the Shuttlebird challenge, the cat, from Nancy Tracy in Lizbeth, size 20, Mocha Brown med and dk. Jon too her square motif and turned it into a necklace which Marie tatted in size 3 thread.

Heart, Angel, Flowers, Bookmarks, Doilies, Snowflakes, TIAS, Butterflies and Edging
The Guidelines
1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.
3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.
6. Tatting 25 motifs in a year typically means tatting 2 motifs per month. Tatters who do not post any tatting content for 5 or 6 months will be removed from the list of participants.
---------------
Laurie's finale for the challenge is the Accidental Heart which was the Week 10 Challenge for the Shuttlebirds Tatting Guild. She's decided to take a break form the challenge while she works on another Clover Doily.Marta hasn't been doing much tatting except this angel by Sharren Morgan at Palmettos.
SunshineCraft was asked for a simple tatting project. As we all know tatting is a a skill and an art form, not a quickie craft. However, with a little consideration she came up with this idea for a card with tatted flowers. In addition to being a simple project for beginners, it also uses up thread scraps. These bookmarks are the result of her work in creating a simple design that can be tatted with a paper (cardstock) shuttle. They were done from top to bottom, with with pearl cotton size 8, Cebelia size 20 and embroidery floss. The mystery doily continues and she actually finished round 2 with the variegated thread. Unfortunately, round 3 didn't work because not all pearl cottons are the same size, so it had to be cut off.
Carrie did Birgit's Small Star in Aunt Lydia's size 10 Victory Red and white although she had to truncate the second one when she ran out of thread. She used the remaining shuttle thread to make a poppy from Tatting collage by Lindsay Rogers and made an extra long stem to use up the thread. It would work well as a bookmark. She's working on the TIAS and has already learned split rings and lock joins.
Diane finished another Spinning Wheel Glass Mat. This one is done in Perfect Quilter Sun-n-Surf #086 and it's about 3.5 inches across. She started another Spinning Wheel in Perfect Quilter, colour #088, Leaf Me Alone and notes that she doesn't mind doing the SLT in finer thread as it lets her work with just one shuttle.
Kristen found the reverse work vs turn work thing was super-confusing, even though Sherry included the tutorial, for the TIAS project. She is working steadily on the Spiderweb Doily and only has a couple more rows to go. She's been thinking of sending this picture of it to CBS Sunday Morning so they can use it as their icon between segments. Wouldn't that get a lot of people talking?
Marie tatted Accidental Heart, the Shuttlebird challenge by Natalie in Lizbeth, size 20, Raspberry Pink med and Shell Pink lt. Sweetheart Snowflake, another pattern by Natalie, from the Shuttlebirds was tatted in Lizbeth, size 20, Boysenberry dk and Azalea med.
Wanda made the butterfly at the top is in Lizbeth size #20, the yellow on the right in Perfect Quilter, the smallest in King Tut all tatted with the same number of stitches which gives a good comparison of the sizes. The edging is also Perfect Quilter. TIAS, day four doesn't quite look like the pattern so she might have to un-tat a bit and try again.
