Dragon, Motifs, Doilies, Edgings, Bookmark and Hair Ornaments

Marie tatted Anne Bruvold's Dragon in Lizbeth, size 20 Falling Leaves.

Lyn has been away at camp and out of town but she did manage to tat Belle flake, designed by Julie Patterson 2007 and Hearts in a Snowflake by Jon Yusoff, both in an unknown white cotton thread.

Lelia finished the motifs from Mini Tats which she has been going through for the challenge. They will be used on Kanzashi flowers and she and a friend will be teaching a class on them for the L.A.C.E. members in September.

Julie shows more of her grandmother's tatting. The doily incorporates hairpin lace. The doily and tablecloth are fabric with simple ring and chain edgings.

Diane has begun tatting around jewellery finding, or doodad as she calls them and she has challenged others to try tatting around them as well. Sarah gave it a try but doesn't have a blog. Her first one uses simple rings and chains in size 40 Lizbeth Sherbet Delight. The second one is a Lisa Trumble motif using Jess's Fancy Field size 40, shown front and back. Diane's second attempt is done, but might need a little blocking. Here they are side by side and she's thinking of turning them into bookmarks.

Fox was inspired by umintsuru tatting Mary Konior's Hoop-la edging to try it out herself in DMC size 80 and she thinks she has the perfect hanky for it.

Jess tatted Mary Konior's Spinning Wheel Glass Mat, in her original Rainbowlicious size 40 and added it to an ornament.

Marty has another piece done that uses a lot of split chains made with two strands of a blue ombre hand-quilting thread wound together on the shuttles and at 5 inches it exceeded the fair's size for a coaster.

Michelle has taken Diane's challenge and tatted Fox's Athalia around a doodad and then turned it into a bookmark.

Tattabugg has also joined the doodad challenge and has tatted around a pair of them, but she thinks the design might need some tweaking.

Wanda was successful in putting a bead in the center of a ring using split rings to make this hair decoration. She has already started another one in pink. She has a lot of little doodles from emptying shuttles and is trying them out as wine glass charms.
