Sharon made the tatted lanyard for the scholarship auction at the Finger Lakes Tatting Event. She joined a Tat-along for a doily with buttons at Threads of Life Creations, working in size 10 thread and the next round has 20 buttons. The second round is done using Lizbeth size 10 in the Peacock Blues colourway. Round 3 seems to pull it all together.
Eliz emptied her shuttles making lots of little bits to share at demonstrations. She managed to complete only two more scallops on the Benporath Mystery Cake Doyley. She has the centre medallion completed and she thinks she can create the cutout behind it but she's not sure if she should as her mother may be afraid to sit anything on it that would hide the centre. Here it is, done and delivered to her Mom who was thrilled with it. Eliz is using Lene's snowflakes to practice some techniques she rarely uses or hasn't mastered yet. The Sixth Day of December Motif #13 for the 25 Motif Challenge Tatted in DMC size 80, it is just over 6 cm in diameter. The Seventh Day of December Motif #14 for the 25 Motif Challenge is also tatted in DMC size 80, it is 7.5 cm in diameter. She started with a centre ring so she could climb out with a split ring of 8/8 to tat the outer round, then practised onion rings to form those layered circles. Round 1 with the beginning of Round 2 on The Eighth Day of December, again done in DMC size 80.
Sarah was playing with Remembrance snowflake by Rebecca Diamond although she omitted the beads. She thought a real snowflake wouldn't have arms longer than the tips so she tried adding a ring and changed the little ring stitch count to 5 so she didn't have to remember to switch between 5 and 4. It wasn't quite long enough, so she added a mock ring. This filigree snowflake motif was originally from Tina Fraubergers' book "Schiffenspitze" published in Dusseldorf in 1921 and is remarkably like Mary Konior's Small Cross.

Melanie has been tatting a geometric pattern in a variegated thread and the corners in herbal garden thread will make nice earrings.
Diane finished her Spinning Wheel glass mat in size 20 Lizbeth, Purple Dk. #633. She liked the colour so much, she decided to combine it with Marilee Rockley's hand-dyed thread, Crocus. She also rounded another corner on my Concentric Rectangles doily. Tatting during breaks at school meant she got a lot accomplished on the glass mat. Her evening was spent on the Rectangles doily. Both the Spinning Wheel and the Rectangle are growing slowly. A busy day meant not a lot of tatting got done. A little more on the Rectangles, a little more on the Spinning Wheel. The Spinning Wheel is done,but there's a mistake in it, although it's hard to see, but she'll fix it later. Round 5 of the Rectangles doily is started.
Fox is well on he way through the round of hearts on her doily, but it seems as if the variegated thread is a different dye lot
and not a match to the original. This doily is not giving her any joy. She's half way through the round. A little more. She saw this on Carolyn's blog and had to give it a try, but it would have worked better with same size threads. Here is the centre of the new 2016 Wiosna Doily which she is working in two strands of Japanese size 80 thread so it's coming out more like size 50. Row 3 of Renulek's Tat-Along is finished. The white didn't look right and the blue is better.

Margaret tatted day 5 of December from the book 24 Snowflakes in tatting by Lene Bjorn in Ice Blue Lizbeth no 20. half way with the hearts and then there is a row to join them to the doily. It's a long way round this row, but its coming slowly, using the Cranberry Bush thread for the hearts.
Marie wanted to make her sister a bracelet for her birthday and found Jane's Bookmark by Jane McLellan which worked perfectly. She made earrings to match using a pattern from one of the "Il Mio Chiacchierino," magazines. And what set is complete without a necklace? She made another bracelet by CM-Handmade and she loves this peachy new Lizbeth colour. Marie adapted the pattern to make a pair of earrings.
Martha show how to rapidly retro tat. Of course this doesn't work so well when the core thread you have to pull out is a fully wound shuttle.
Muskaan tatted The Third Day of December Snowflake from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Björn in a rainbow of colours and in rummaging through her stash she found a metallic thread to use for the centre. She started with the original thread count, but wanted something fuller. She stared again keeping the same stitch count, but added picots. Here are the subsequent rows and the final one front and back. She intended to finish it off with the metallic thread but plain white really made the colours pop. Renulek's Wiosna 2016 has been started and is well under way.
Sue has another of her designs done tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Sky Blue Dk which didn't come out the way she wanted it to. This is the beginning of another possible design. Quite some time ago she wanted to tat a Broomstick Lace Cross which was interesting, but not quite right. So the other day she just had to try again in size 40 Lizbeth Purple Splendor and the results are much better, but has room for improvement. Here's what it looked like before the row of lockchain was added.
Wanda shows us her Medallion Cross Bookmarks in Lizbeth #122 Caribbean size 20. She shared this one in blue a few weeks ago and this is how it originally looked. After looking at this picture I thought there must be a way to make the medallion centre look a little better and this is it's next incarnation. It still needed tweaking so another version was done. Now she's wondering which version should make it to the pattern page.
