Hat, Heart, Doilies, Flamingo, Motifs, Pendant and Cross

Michelle started the Red Hat by Gina, but at this stage it looks more like the helmet worn by Darth Vader. That all changed when she began the brim. The finished hat in all it's glory, was done in Lizbeth size 20 thread and size #7-0 fine needle. The heart designed by Nancy Tracy is called the Clover Drop Heart and it's done in Flora size 10 thread on size #5-0 tatting needle.

Jenn is working on Renulek's Summer Napkin using #20 Lizbeth thread: colours #620 Azalea Medium and #684 Leaf Green Medium.

mb duke has the flamingo for her son's teacher done and framed. Her work on Renulek's Spring Doily is progressing, but she noticed as she started round 11 that she had made a mistake on round 10. It's consistent though, and can be considered an artistic deviation and not an apparent mistake.

Ancolie tatted another design from Lyn Morton's Tatting Patterns using Cordonnet DMC size 40 in white and the red thread is AURIFIL MAKO 12.

Diane managed to finish two more rounds of Renulek's Letnia. It's growing little by little. Diane's not the only one who has been tatting; her students having been working on their projects and slowly emptying her treasure tin, as they select prizes. Diane's thinking she may spend the summer re-filling the tin for next year.

Fox has the outer round of the doily almost complete and ready to tat on. At the moment it's just laying there.

Marie used two strands of silver sewing thread and a blue cats-eye to make this pendant that's 1 3/8" in diameter.

Sue tatted Jane's Bookmark Cross in size 40 Lizbeth Pink Blossoms, for a very sweet lady in her Sunday night group.

Bunny, Motifs, Snowflakes, Doilies and Pendant

Michelle has joined the challenge and to start off with a bang she begins with an original design. The ideas was to tat a bunny. However in execution it looked more like a four-eyed mutant bunny that just escaped from a science lab. Although once it was re-worked in Lizbeth size 20 thread color #139 Fruit Fizz it looked more like a snowflake. Another variation was tatted in Lizbeth size 20 thread, color #656 Wedgewood Dk. Yet another version was done in Lizbeth size 20 thread color #688 Seagreen Dk. one more in Lizbeth size 20 thread color #100 Falling Leaves and she has lovely little sun burst. Lizbeth size 20 thread color #678 Olive was finally used to make the pattern into a proper little bunny. Of course what good is all this experimentation without a pattern?  Michelle's Dust Bunny Pattern has been posted to her blog.

Batty Tatter has been plodding along on Renulek's Spring Doily with several boring rows, but now that she's up to row 12 things are looking up.

Lilas is working this doily for her mother in subtle tones of white and beige.

Phyllis has been hard at work and she has Renulek's Spring doily, which measures about 22 inches in size 20, completed.

Marie made this pendant with two strands of copper sewing thread and green cats-eye and it's one of her favourites.

Doilies, Necklaces, Flowers, Motifs and Earrings

Lilas began this design with clunies from Elisa du Sud‘s blog for her mother which gave her practice with clunies and a chance to try out split chains which she hadn't done before.

Sue was the recent winner in a giveaway from Umi n Tsuru and received this awesome necklace, which she's had to guard to protect it from pilfering by her Mom and a friend's daughter.

Ancolie tatted the flat flower from Lyn Morton's Tatting Patterns with Lizbeth thread size 80 Color 156, Juicy Watermelon.

Diane had 44 students in the after-school tatting class including some grade 2 students. Being able to select a tatted reward each time they pass a benchmark helps to keep them motivated. Foam strip bracelets are ideal for decorating with tatting and let the students show off their treasures. Lou Dawn sent some paperclips with tatting which they fell in love with. Now they want to learn how to make their own. Ann sent her some goodies to share with the students and they decided the glittery threads should be saved for prizes.

Kathy has an antique doily on permanent display. It's laid on a gold charger, covered with a glass plate to protect it and a pillar candle with a hurricane lamp, where it's beautiful, visible and protected.

Marie made a matching pair of earrings to go with the Icy Necklace using two strands of metallic silver sewing thread on opalescent focal beads. The Silvery Green pendent is made with two strands of silver sewing thread and green cats-eye.

HisKid has Renulek's Spring doily round 4 done and she has added size 40 Lizbeth Lime Green Med, and with all these colours all I can think of is a big bowl of sherbet.

Earrings, Snakes, Bookmarks, Doilies and Pin

http://batatattat.blogspot.com/
Grace used a pattern by Kelly Luljak to make prom earrings for her daughter in size 10 Lizbeth with a Swarovski crystal drop. The earrings look good in both red and black. Sassi the Snake was gifted  to her knitting students in 7th and 8th grade, one for each class,  one done in 10, one in 20, and one in 40 wt thread and then she lost the pattern. Julie Patterson's Hearts and Flowers bookmark was made for Brenda Novak's Diabetes fundraising auction, in Honey Drizzle 40 wt Lizbeth. SassiSerpent Bookmark is a wonderful design by Brenda Bonilla and Grace has found the pattern again.

Sue is tatting Renulek's Spring Doily in size 40 Lizbeth Pineapple Parfait, and the outer round is size 40 Lizbeth Orange Crush.

Wanda tatted this unique hat pin for her mother for Mother's Day. Wanda recently come across the bookmark she had made when she was in Branson, Missouri a few years ago and was inspired to tat it again in Lizbeth Twirlz #404 and Mermaid Lagoon size 20 and the pattern is available in her Patterns tab.
