Doilies, Snowflakes, Bracelet, Teapot, Key, Dragonfly, Bookmark and Spider Web

Jenn is using using Lizbeth #20 thread in White and Grape Dark #645 to tat her "magic square" doily

Batty Tatter shows the blizzard of snowflakes she has been tatting and wishes the sparkles in them would show up better.

Sue has been tatting Jane Eborall's Inside Out Snowflake for some of the exchanges she is taking part in.

Cigdem used a modified motif and some wire-wrapped bead links to make this Dainty Lace Tatted Bracelet to match the necklace.

Fox is making progress on the Under An African Sky doily. Of course that means that the monster doily is languishing.

Martha wasn't able to take Vicki Clark's class, but she got one of the kits and made the Teapot Suncatcher as soon as she got home.  The scanner didn't do justice to the big crystal bead in the center. These are the projects from the open classes at night; Jane's Key to Success, and Sharren's Ringo the Dragonfly.

Sue tatted JoĆ«lle Paulson's December Motif in size 80  Lizbeth Snow White with petite glass beads to make earrings. Martha's "Broomstick" Tatted Bookmark is tatted in size 40 Tat-ilicious HDT Kaleidoscope with 2 square multicolor matching buttons. She used paperclips in process to keep the picots from getting tangled.

Wanda has an impressive tatted spider and web all ready for Halloween.

Motifs, Edgings, Snowflakes, Cupcakes, Cat, Earrings, Pigs and Flower

Muskaan has been using some of her tatted motifs and edgings. To decorate gifts she has added them to envelopes. Frivole’s Rose & Crown motif was added to the corner of some napkins. These motifs were intended for her MIL's sari, but by the time they were completed her MIL fell out of love with the idea and Muskaan appliqued them to some tea towels instead.

Batty Tatter used Lizbeth Arctic Waters to tat this snowflake pattern from the Tatsy Holiday Ornaments. This Tatsy snowflake from kit #307, she number every other line so that she didn't skip ahead and wind up missing some elements.

Erisnyx made this cupcake from Be-stitched in size 10 thread for her aunt's birthday. The Oval Medallion pattern from This 'n' Tat was enjoyable to tat is size 10 thread. She thought the Pentawheel Medallion also from This 'n' Tat would be fun to do in 3 colours. This Spiral Medallion is another pattern from This 'n' Tat and she likes how the picots on the long chains are only on one side she also likes how the two colors she used blend with each other. This black cat is from the Tat-man's Cat on a Broomstick pattern, again in size 10.

Lilas used Lizbeth size 40 thread, her favourite Japanese pearls in the smaller size to make these classic earrings.

Lelia is working on a couple workshop pieces from Lace Day[s], Mini-tats book, Japanese tatting kit + couple patterns, as well as a half-embellished origami bag with tatting motifs and edges.

Diane used size 20 Lizbeth, Arctic Waters to tat Cintamani, properly this time. This year's third graders have asked about tatting and they look pretty engrossed with it. Galuh is the sixth pattern in Jon Yusoff's Elegant Tatting Gems which she had to pay attention to because of the shuttle switches. The finished size is 4 1/4" across in size 20 Lizbeth, Arctic Waters.

Fox has struggled repeatedly with Jane McLellan's Under An African Sky since the overlapping rings just defied her abilities, but she persevered and finally she had success. Now for sixteen more.

Kristen thinks she has had success with them too. Her current project is real lace with beads.

Sue saw this awesome The Third Day of December Snowflake by Lene Bjorn but earlier attempts at it didn't work out. This time she did it in size 20 Lizbeth Snow White and it came out beautifully.

Wanda was asked to tat some pigs and a flower, but the lady who asked for them didn't specify what type of flower she wanted and this was the result. She needed some light for her booth at the craft show and used some battery operated puck lights mounted on decorated cans and topped with tatting embellished shades.

Pendants, Doilies, Snowflakes, Motifs, Necklaces, Bracelet, Earrings and Bookmark

Lilas has finished her pendant trials and has decided to keep this one for herself.

Sue has finished another round on the African doily and is on to the separate round so she decided to put it aside in favour of doing Christmas tatting.

mb duke saw a pendant pattern on Ewa's blog and thought it would be a beautiful pattern to tat up as Christmas presents for a few family members. It's an interwoven celtic pattern shown here front and back and she had problems getting the tension right on the long chains. The trefoils are woven in between the ring and chain centrepiece and then the outside rings are added last. She thought she would try to incorporate those trefoils into the existing chains of the centre element and adjust the stitch count a bit. She thinks the resultant motif would make lovely earrings. She used Lizbeth Christmas Green and white in size 40 and silver seed beads on the outer chains to make her pendant and although it doesn't have the celtic weaving it was easier for her to do. Here's another one in Perfect Quilter red and beige. She has included instructions for her version on her blog.

Fox tatted Robin Perfetti’s Snowflake again, this time in #80 DMC. She only has 2 of the original 8 balls left so before starting back in on the monster doily she ordered another ball of thread. This truly is a Monster Doily.

Kristen reviews Mastering Tatting by Lindsay Rogers which lists just 15 patterns, but almost every named pattern either a) incorporates multiple motifs/elements that can be uses on their own [ie: rows of doilies made of motifs or edgings] or b) multiple uses of the same pattern [ie: taking an edging and making it into a variety of bookmarks, motifs or mats]. For the full review, see her blog.

Margaret used the pattern called Bridal Lace by Elaine Gan to make this tatted necklace, with matching bracelet and earrings, worked in Lizbeth thread no 20 Vineyard Harvest.

Wanda has been busy preparing a tea themed basket for auction filled with goodies for an afternoon tea and included a tatted bookmark and card embellished with tatting.
