Angel, Butterfly, Dragon, Coasters and Clovers

Shirl joins the challenge with this motif made with cotton perle DMC size 12, colour 644.
Chiara tatted this doily of flowers and clovers in DMC 20 in white. The pattern is found on "il lavoro chiacchierino" by Mani di fata. She has already completed day 2 of Iris' TIAS.
Linda tatted the Tat Chat Heart in Flora Thread size 20 and the finished size is 4" x 3 1/2" Linda notes that some patterns are easier to read and tat than others.
Vinnie used a braided type of thread to make this motif and needed to use a hair clip to hold the thread. She's been working on this flower edging that her mother in law wants to edge a suit, but making a corner on it is challenging. A second motif with the braided thread made a nice coaster but it's hard on her hands.
Wanda noticed that changing the picot size changed the bootie size in the pattern she was working on. All the booties are done with time to spare but no pictures yet.

TattingChic is working on TIAS using some new shuttles she found on Noreen Crone Findlay's blog.

Nita tatted the free pattern from Nancy Tracy and used size 20 grey Cebelia for this it.
Ellen shows the 2nd paper clip pattern she did for Georgia's Online Tatting Class, it's a Lucky Four Leaf Clover which can also be done as a 3-leaf shamrock or tatted as a bookmark. Ellen has TIAS for day 2 done.
Iris has posted day 2 of TIAS and as always, it's hard to imagine what it will become.

Anne shows the samples tatted from the 1912 Emmanuel Bocher Tatting Book, and notes that some of the techniques for creating them require using short lengths of thread on a needle. She is also showing some really interesting pieces that are works in progress.
Diane finished "Springtime" from The Tatter's Treasure Chest, edited by Mary Carolyn Waldrep tatted in Lizbeth size 20 but found it needed serious blocking to get it flat. After struggling with this one she did another Spinning Wheel glass mat from Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konior in Yarnplayer's HDT Weathered Stone, size 20.
Eva had to re-do the TIAS after a false start. The little angel is finished and also her snowflake, but she thinks she has to take another look a the patterns so that she can publish them on a pattern blog. The old version of the angel is in the links list on her blog.
Jeff tatted Ringtrim, the Norwegian Micro Dragon in DMC Perle Cotton size 12 in colour numbers 932 and 503.
Sherry is enthralled with the "Butterflies are Free" theme for Shuttlebirds and mentions the butterfly contest. If you are interested check out the contest details. The girls of 4:00 O'clock Rock are making terrific progress. Jinju tatted one of Sherry's free patterns in "GOODNESS GRAPECIOUS" size 20 hand dyed silk, and plain white silk and it looks delicious. Hye-Soon tatted this cross in Tutti Frutti HDT and Kyoung-Mi used the same colour for this flower motif. Meanwhile Sherry just had to try out the TIAS in the multicoloured size 20 "TROPICANA" hand dyed silk, and the purple is size 20 "Goodness Grapecious" hand dyed silk.
Wally tatted Ellen's 4 Lucky Clover pattern in an Italian thread whose name she can't remember but the size is similar to 40 and the green is El Beida 12. Then she did her own version of it.

Bookmarks, Snowflakes, Squares and TIAS

Just a reminder that although the current fun stuff in shown condensed here to make it easier for you to keep up with everyone, don't forget to check on our past participants too. Mark is still working on some awesome wedding lace for his neice and Carol has a haunted house in the works, just to name a couple of them.
Chiara is enjoying the challenge and she loves to tat snowflakes and bookmarks. These 2 bookmarks are tatted with DMC perle cotton size 8 in light green and variegated pink and light blue and Chiara has plans to tat it again with variegated yellow and violet. The pattern is by Mae Taylor.
Linda is working on a pin cushion doll embellished with tatting. I can't wait to see the finished doll.
Krystle is in the mood for square motifs like the one from Mary's blog done in size 20 flora which measures 3x3". Jon's pattern was tatted in Altin Basak and it's about 2 1/2 inches.
Charlotte has tatted the "Ribbon Snowflake" from Vida Sunderman's Tatted Snowflakes in Sherry's "Icicle" HDT.
Vinnie found the song "Starry Starry Night" an inspiration for her "Flowery Flowery Star" done in Size 20 Anchor MC Thread in blue and white using Daisy Picot technique. This is the Bunch of Grapes from First edition of Tatting book by Reigo in 1850 which Vinnie found redone by Martha Ess on Georgia Seitz site and she did it in Anchor size 8 pearl cotton.
Ancolie has tatted Anne's microdragon for the online class.
Nita was practicing hanging clunies and didn't want to change colours so here is her green flower which she promises to do again in proper flower colours.
Ellen is tatting the new TIAS from Iris and she shows us the sewing gauge that she is using to work on it.
Aileen tatted another of "Donna's Butterfly" one of Marty's patterns which she finds addictive. She has been emptying more shuttles and sorting out her tatting books and supplies in preparation for the upcoming move and found a little something she created a while ago. Meet Rattle her 3D tiny tatting toy mouse.
Bev shows us the lovely tea towel with tatted button heart, trim and edging that she received in the recent Valentine's tea towel exchange. The green clover bookmark is another pattern from Karey Solomon's Tatting Times. Bev also does a review of the recently acquired "Tatting Basic Patterns" by Rosemary Peel and the soon to be received Judith Connor's, "Tatting Adventures with beads, shuttles and needle.
Eva is tatting Iris' TIAS in some size 20 thread in 2 different green shades.
Martha has posted some more information about the Hector event and challenged other teachers to feature their class projects on their blogs.
Sherry's student Hye-Soon is tatting Mary Konior's cross in Sherry's size 80 Pear Glace HDT and it's looking beautiful.
Wally has tatted more of the beaded design she was working on.

A new TIAS has emerged on Iris's blog. Let's wind up those shuttles!

Terry shows us her learning equipment - a Shrinky Dink (?? I still don't know what this is) shuttle.

(edited to add: Shrinky Dink is a trademark plastic which comes in sheets that can be cut to shape and then shrunk by heating it in the oven.)
Chiara's tatted up a lovely shamrock bookmark by Iris in DMC 8 perle for a dear friend. I agree. It's a lovely pattern.

Wally's been tatting up a storm!!!! A sequins butterfly, tatted earringd and lovely beaded snowflakes.
