Bookmark, Bracelet, Motifs, TIAS, Doily, Edging and Heart

Rayanna is thankful that Jane did another TIAS because it got her back into tatting. Right now she is working on another of Jane's designs, Fandango Bookmark.

Karen tatted this pattern by Cristina Banyard for St. Patrick's Day using variegated Omega rayon thread and had the worst time trying to close rings. She decided to make a bracelet to trade with a student she's tutoring using a size 10 blue thread and some beautiful glass beads.

Bree tatted Fox's Abigail in dark blue and tropical blue, Lizbeth size 20 and added it to a tank top.

Corina has been doing some bobbin lace and used the left over thread to make tiny tatted flowers that she has plans for.

Brigitte really enjoyed Jane's TIAS. Her airplane is tatted in pale pink and old turquoise Lizbeth Size 20 thread and size 11 beads.
Diane has been tatting pattern #31 from A New Twist on Tatting by Catherine Austin (most of the patterns in this book are reprints of older books which can be downloaded from the antique pattern library) in size 20 Lizbeth, color #651. Her sister asked her to tat 18 inches of edging and has chosen edging #8861 from an old Coats book, #207 which has a lovely undulating profile.

Sue was tatting Jon Yusoff's Heart 0' Daisies Pattern when her granddaughter came for a visit and claimed the unfinished heart.

Butterflies, Motifs, Necklace, Ornaments and Snowflakes

Cindy has been busy at work and at home and hasn't done much tatting except to practice SCMRs with the Very Small Butterfly and the Gr8 Butterfly. Since she has reached her 100th post she thought she'd do a giveaway for a bag and an assortment of perle cotton and a trade for a wee bag.

Fox is blaming the current love of her tatting for her recent purchase.

Gina says it's the early onset of spring fever that has her tatting flutterbys. The top row is a pattern by Mary McCarthy that appeared in the August, 1990 edition of Workbasket Magazine. The top middle is Merrilee's Stardate HDT. The second row is another favorite that Rosemarie Peel used to have it on her website, but the link is under construction now.
Isa has used a motif from the book by Jan Stawasz with a lot of beads in size 20 thread to make a pendant.
Lily has Fox's Maeve finished, slightly incorrect but finished and she vows to do it again and get it right. Then she was having trouble sleeping because this design kept intruding. It didn't work out on paper like it did in her head; and it didn't work out in thread, like it did in her head, but it did work out. Now for some tweaking.

Maria is back to giving tatting her own special twist. Here's a motif on a tiny potpourri sun hat. A little snowflake and a snowflake suspended inside a Christmas ball. And a green and white snowflake from an old Burda magazine embellished with beads.

Edging, Motif, Dragon, Seahorse and Cross

Fox turned to working with pretty beads when she couldn't face tatting another repeat of the same edging.
Gina posted the winners of her OWOH and mentioned that she was a little surprised at the number of people who were in love with the dragons and seahorses and that it was a good way to introduce others to tatting.

Isa created a triangular motif and tatted it in size 20 thread with beads in the joining picots. Then she had plans to join several together for a bigger project, but quit when she saw that 4 of them made an interesting cross.

Motifs, Hearts and Edging

Jessica is tatting the Star doily and has worked out a method where she tats three wheels joined to each other, then the little fill in. Then she does the 4th large motif, before she has to sit with the whole thing to attach the sections together.

Orsi was hesitant at first to start a blog especially in English, but now she feels like she's one of a community. She's on a roll with her Trafalgar edging which she has turned into a motif. She thinks could make it a hexagon or octagon and it would resemble a rose.

Corina tatted Mary Konior's Queen of Hearts in 1920 Lizbeth and with the left over thread she tatted another little heart. It's time for spring cleaning and sprucing things up even in the shop.

Fox has rounded another corner on her hanky edging and she previously said she was bored with it, but she has revised her thinking because she does like the pattern, she just wants to see it DONE.
Sue started Mary Konior's Windmills pattern from Tatting with Visual Patterns, but thinks using the 100 size thread wasn't the best choice, but she needed a break from using size 10. She grabbed the beautiful Rainbow Bright size 100 HDT from Tatskool and tried Mary Konior's Carnival pattern in Tatting with Visual Patterns and it certainly looks like a carnival.

TIAS, Edging, Heart, Cross, Bookmark, Necklace and Motifs

Rayanna has her TIAS finally finished.

Orsi has a new edging done. She has called this one Trafalgar and thinks it would make a nice necklace.

Carolyn tatted Susan Fuller's Heart's Desire in Lizbeth size 20 color 156 and thinks it's a frilly feminine heart.

Brigitte tatted Dianna Stevens' Pearl Cross from Tatterly's Delight in Lizbeth Size 20 thread. She had a lot of fun tatting the Tardis bookmark, designed by Anne Bruvold in a lovely variegated blue Lizbeth size 20.

Isa tatted the motif based on part of a pattern by Jan Stawasz with a collar added to make a necklace.

Lily was tatting Fox's Maeve and realized that she had tatted a chain backwards. She could have cut it off, or started over again, but she chose to undo it and make it right. Just the discipline of doing it right has given her her second wind and now she can tat anything. (At least until the next time.)

Maria finally got around to posting the Christmas stocking she did decorated in tatting.

TIAS, Belt, Bracelet, Motifs and Edging

Rayanna had a little set back, but she's tatting the TIAS again and has reached day 9. Almost done.
Jessica found the added incentive of a deadline helped her complete her belt in time for Valentine's Day. She's thinking of doing more in Koigu yarn and beads. She tatted this simple bracelet pattern in Koigu and it tatted well enough although it was difficult to un-tat.

Magda has tatted several bracelets with Japanese Miyuki beads and named them after operettas. Czardas Princess was tatted with maroon twist Madeira size 20. Tales of the Vienna Woods are made from green twist Madeira size 20. The Bat is made of black twist Aida size 20 with hematite beads. The Land of Smiles is made from pomegranate twist Madeira size 20.

Orsi has the pattern for her Napoleon motif ready.
Ancolie likes square patterns, so here is another square motif, this time with beads in the corners.

Brigitte has a blouse with a wide V-neck and she decided to fill the space with lace using this design by Teri Dusenbury tatted in Star size 70 thread.

Fox is going crazy tatting miles of edging, (it's really only 44 inches for a standard hanky). So she is breaking up the boredom with some interesting tatting with beads.
