The Guidelines
1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.
3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.

Cheryl wanted to make a bug, but she kept seeing an angel and now she's thinking she' going to have to start recording what she's doing to be able to write out her own patterns.
Jane notes that if you're going to add a bead to the centre of a split ring, it has to be the right size bead or the ring either doesn't close or leaves a bare thread. The thread used for this red gecko is a Coats size 40. A pod of dolphins, a murder of crows, but what are a bunch of geckos called? The closest she could find was a mess of iguanas, so does that make this a mess of geckos?
Lelia is continuing to work through Patti Duff's Mini Tats and this one is done in HDT from YarnPlayer. Using Lizbeth size 20 in a solid and variegated colour of hand wound threads (HWT), she tatted some motifs for an interesting effect. In Karey's Tatting Times, she asked for yellow and gold stars for Finger Lakes Tatting Group starry-night quilt and here is Lelia's contribution to go with her subscription renewal. Working with 2 strands of thread made for rather thick motifs, so she tried it again with size 80 thread for really pretty results. Motif #22 from is tatted in Lizbeth, Size 20, Color 163, a soft blue. The butterfly done in HWT was added to a greeting card.
Ginny has round 3 of the lace mat completed.
Linda added a tatted dragonfly and some posies to this round robin block. She has been sending a tatted butterfly to her partners and one of them has been sending a bead bee.
Ancolie tatted this necklace from Marilee Rockley's book Up and Tat' em in Lizbeth Linen Med.693 size 20.
Bree finally got batteries for her camera so that she could take pictures of all of the button snowflakes she has been tatting in Lizbeth thread, white, red and ecru, size 20. Here is a bookmark with one of Jess' colors that she sent to Bree.
Diane received this bookmark in the mail from Maureen. It's Karen Bickerton's Rosy Ironwood pattern. Her Doodad Snowflake #5 is done in size 20 Lizbeth, Victorian Red. She has been looking through Mini Tats and found several that worked well with findings, like this one she tatted in size 20 Lizbeth, Azalea Med. Then of course she had to see what a pink snowflake would look like. Here are more Mini Tats in pink. The first is the pattern as written, the second using a finding in the middle and the third with joining picots on the rings for stability. Adding a jump rings gives an instant pendant. This is her favorite of her Doodad Snowflakes done in Azalea Med.
Fox tatted Margaret's Fluffy Angel the other day and I'm going to blame it on Blogger that it didn't show up, so here it is now. She is working on Renulek's Snowflake napkin, and has already rejected several thread options. Tatting lots of snowflakes has her rather fazed, so she opted to tat earrings in Jess's Calliope. She's making great progress on her Honey Napkin which seems very straight forward. The Snowflake Napkin by Renulek is also progressing. She just had to tat this design by Jan Stawasz in #40 Calliope HDT by Jess after seeing it on Frivole's blog.
Jess is using using size 40 Madder Tatter HDT on this edging pattern from Occhi-Schiffchenspitze - Frivolite.
Marie took a blue topaz set in sterling silver, which was one of her grandmother's single earrings, and tatted around it to make this pendant. She came up with these butterfly earrings, while using up thread on a shuttle which are done in Lizbeth, size 20 thread and she's giving the pattern in her tatting kits. This one became a bookmark.
Orsi has been creating keepsake Christmas cards.
Wanda did some wine glass charms and her nephew wanted a picture of them to send to his girlfriend. She made sets of them in jewel tones and autumn colours with 4 in a set. They also made cute earrings.
