Necklace, Ice Drops, Crown, Doily, Leaves and Snowflake

The Guidelines
1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing me to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. The blogs are ALL checked whenever there is an update using the links list in the sidebar on the right, there is no need to advise me that you have added new content. If your new items haven't shown up, it's because I haven't had time to do an update yet.
3. I can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. I don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell me when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. From past experience I know the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let me know so that I continue to check your blog on a regular basis. Also let me know if once was enough so that I can move your blog to the list of past participants.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.
6. Tatting 25 motifs in a year typically means tatting 2 motifs per month. Tatters who do not post any tatting content for 5 or 6 months will be removed from the list of participants.
---------------

Elsa attended a flea market in the spring and used a quickly devised cardboard shuttle to demonstrate how to tat to one of the ladies present. When she went back again in the fall this lady showed her a design in a vintage publication which Elsa envisioned as a necklace, and what a very pretty necklace it made.

Diane decided to replace her old tree skirt with a new one so she hasn't had a lot of tatting time but she did get one Ice Drop done in her basic pattern since she can finish them much more quickly. She rewrote her Ice Drop Tutorial with more information and better pictures using the Ice Drop pictured here.

Eliz used 5 strands of Coats & Clark All Purpose Thread, article 210 colour 83B to tat a modified version of "Pinnacles" Crown. She prefers the look of it before the last round is added, but opted to tat just one repeat. It's currently being blocked stretched over a peanut butter jar.

Fox is making steady progress on her centre which may be boring repeats of the same motif, but the finished whole will be worth it.

Martha has added tatted leaves and flowers to a quilt block for the Palmetto's project quilt.

Muskaan tatted an adaptation of Patty Dowden’s Mardi Gras Snowflake for "I Love Tatting" in Mardi Gras colours using 3 strands of Anchor embroidery threads.

Sue wanted to tat these Ice Drops with silver bugle beads, but she discovered that even though they're marked the same size, there were differences in length. This one is in Christmas green. This next one is tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Snow White with long silver bugle beads and tiny read beads. The white and red Birthday Ice Drop is tatted in size 20 Lizbeth Snow White with red twisted bugle beads and tiny red beads and while it looks pretty just sitting there, it really glows with the light behind it. Another one tatted in size 40 Lizbeth Christmas Green with red bugle beads and white beads.

Wanda is planning on tatting Ice Drops for Christmas and she started with Cosmic Ice Drop, pattern by Nicola Bowersox although it was kind of boring without the beads the pattern calls for. She doesn't have the time to fuss with beads so she modified the outside and had to make adjustments to the back for the bevel on the gem.

  1. I found so many entertaining stuff in your blog, especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the leisure here! Keep up the excellent work. snowflake necklace
