Doilies, Edging, Pendants, Collar, Coasters, Tatting Conventions and Bookmark

Mistene has been quiet ... and quietly tatting, so here are rounds 11, 12, 13 and 14 of Renulek's Spring 2016 Doily, although she forgot to take a picture of round 12.

Jane muttered "under, over; over, under" as she tatted 81 and 82 from Tatted Artistry of Teiko Fujito which are both pearl tatting. Motif 83 would make a pretty insertion which is simple, but a good exercise in keeping picots and bare thread length consistent.

Nikki, with much trepidation, cut out the offending bit of tatting and fixed the mistake which wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, but then she made the join in the wrong place again and as she was approaching the end of the row, she ran out of core thread, so now she's wondering if she should leave it, or fix it, or cut it off.

Grace made this pendant for her sister's birthday adapted from a sample in the American Civil War Museum, with glass beads in honey and Lizbeth size 40 thread in Orange Crush and Sunkist Coral. She's still working on her version of this collar that she saw last summer. She made set of 4 coasters using Blossom Medallions by Gloria Nelson in DMC size 8 perle cotton.

Diane posted lots of pictures of friends she met at Palmetto Tat Days. Take a look and I'll bet you can match some faces up to names you know.

Marie had to make sure she wrote down her pattern correctly so she did this reversible pendant again.

Phyllis wanted to teach the Hands of Many Gestures class, but it was cancelled and the pattern should be on the CD. The projects she completed are the Love 2 TAT by Carol Lowe in Jelly Bean Lizbeth, size 20; the barrette is Sherry Pence's 3-D Barrett Flower done in Lizbeth that she can't remember the nameof; and earrings from her Encased Gem Earring class in Lizbeth Navy. She also came away with booiks she won at auction and books she splurged on.

Sue's Spring doily is coming along at a snail's pace, but still moving. This seeming spiral of nothingness, became a delightful bookmark, tatted in size 40 HDT Rainbow Bright.
