TIAS, Bookmarks, Earrings, Pendants, Motifs and Flowers

The Guidelines
1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.
3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.
6. Tatting 25 motifs in a year typically means tatting 2 motifs per month. Tatters who do not post any tatting content for 5 or 6 months will be removed from the list of participants.
---------------

Sue is sure at day 10 of TIAS it's a duck house, or maybe it's a right angle triangle.

Claire, at day 9 still thinks TIAS is a boat sail. The pattern from Rita Weiss’ book Tatted Doilies and Edgings was used to create bookmarks Lizbeth size 20, Autumn Apple Pie #169, Autumn Spice #136 and Niagara Falls #158. It's become a favourite design done here in Lizbeth size 20, Vineyard harvest #131.

Cigdem's Autumn Spire earrings are inspired by a vintage edging pattern and worked in Lizbeth size 10 in Harvest Orange. The next pair of earrings were done in Lizbeth size 20 in Sea Green with bronze colour Japanese glass beads. You can see how the change in thread size affected the design. The same pattern done in size 10 Lizbeth cordonnet in Mocha Brown made this pendant which includes a gold plated bail and swarovski crystal dangle.

Lelia is working on TIAS day 5 and day 6 in Lizbeth size 20, colour 129.

Jessica is making this single-shuttle motif which is part of a small doily she's working on from Priscilla Tatting #1 that has a fabric centre.

Nancy is working on a design in the new Lizbeth Twirlz thread. This colour is called Patriotic.

Diane's third graders are having so much fun tatting and as they reach their target goals they are selecting the motif of their choice from Diane's stash which has been augmented by contributions from Fox. She decided that she needs to tat some more motifs for them to select from and did these from Minitats. Then the the left bud fragment from Tatting with Visual Patterns by Mary Konior and the right bud fragment as well as Masquerade from the same book.

Fox tatted Mary Konior's Queen Anne’s Lace in Anchor Liana #20 and Glitter YLI received from Liyarra. The square motif that got dunked in the coffee cup didn't recover, but it still makes an awesome piece of lace. Just to intrigue us she's showing us a teaser of a piece of lace she is working on. She's convinced that at day 10 Jane's TIAS is the witch's house of gingerbread.

Kristen has managed to tat 13 of these motifs without breaking the size 80 thread but if it continues to be a problem she may have to reconsider working with it. day 10 of TIAS and she's thinking it still might be a nativity scene.

Mica tatted the Unique Snowflake from Vida Sunderman's book and done in Kreinik braid no. 4 it measures about 1 inch across.

Michelle has been inspired by Fox to blog more and what she's been working on that is blog worthy is tatted crosses all done in Lizbeth size 20 using Julie Patterson's design. She's making lots of these flowers using her own design for a veil for her goddaughter's First Communion.
