Nancy has tired of Christmas colours and chose Lizbeth size 20 Rainbow Splash and Coral Orange Med to tat Nancy Tracy's doily.
Linda decorated the quilted mug rug with a Nancy Tracy cupcake and a tea pot from the book Tea is for Tatting by Martha Ess. The Christmas Berry Wreath by LaRae Mikulecky had a few more stitches add to the chains to make it fit around the back of this medallion. The snow flake is tatted with 2 different threads of Lizbeth 20 white and Sulky metallic gold.
Diane tatted her Doodad Snowflake #2 with pink beads replacing the picots on the outer rings. In another version of Doodad Snowflake #2 pink beads replace the picots on the outer rings, and they replace the doodad in the center. The doily is progressing and she's now over halfway around the outer edge. Then there is Doodad Snowflake #3 which is one of her favourites because of the Josephine rings.
Fox found Frivole's Celeste snowflake a frustrating experience, but even so, tatted with #40 Lizbeth and just the right beads, it will make a fabulous addition to someone's tree this year. The softly muted tones of pink and grey were delightful, but the thread was worthy of hair pulling, so this doily is in a permanent time-out. Wisteria Lane #40 HDT, from Krystle, combined with an Italian pattern from Il Chiacchierino Vol3 and some minuscule beads resulted in the purchase of a teeny tiny hook. Should we call the paramedics now?
Margaret's eighth day of snowflake tatting is Flocon d'Or designed by Joelle Paulson done in Lizbeth size 20. Day 9 is a snowflake by Renulek also done in Lizbeth size 20.
Martha has put Joyce's Angel and Marjorie's Angel in the Free Patterns on her blog since they would have been lost when her old web site was closed.
Arggghhh! That is my biggest tatting phobia! I don’t know which is worse - pulling the embedded hook out fast or twisting it so that it leaves the agonized flesh...
ReplyDeleteHaving tried both scenarios a number of, I just know I do not want to repeat the test again... : ))
