Butterflies, Flowers, TIAS, Letters, Motifs, Cross, Earrings, and Pendants

Carrie has been tatting for a year now and has decided to join the challenge. On a recent get together with some college friends she spent idle moments tatting flowers and butterflies in some leftover size 10 in white and pink and more in size 20 Lizbeth Jellybean. Then she decided Marilee Rockley's Remembrance ring in Lizbeth Mocha Brown Medium would make a nice remembrance gift for her friends.

Kristen decided that Jane's most recent TIAS was appropriate for several of the ladies in her family who are expecting. A little experimenting with letters gave her a letter A doing the splits then a bowlegged A, so she worked out one that fit, to make a perfect BABY to attach to a bib.

Linda is working on an old DMC single shuttle pattern that consequently  has a large number of cut and ties. Using a SSSR she was able to eliminate some of them. The project is growing slowly, but large enough to appreciate how the finished project will look.

Diane managed to fix the mistake and complete this cross from the December 1958 Workbasket magazine in size 20 Lizbeth #621, although she thinks it would look better done in a finer thread.

Margaret used the two layer tatted flower by Jennifer Williams to tat these earrings in white Lizbeth and pink Coats thread, both size 20, with lots of seed beads around the outside. The first pendant was made with the variation number two of the two layer tatted flower and she put a heart shape charm in the middle. The pink pendant is Coats pink no 20, with a variation of Mary Butterfly and a gold bird charm added in the middle.
