Kirsten is thrilled with her fair results and the ribbons she received, a second for her coasters and a fourth place for her crown, especially since last year all she got was an honorable mention. Some of the other things she entered were some snowflakes from Festive Snowflakes & Ornaments For Needle and Shuttle Tatting edited by Barb Foster. She re-visited the blacksmith shop where the wife of the blacksmith sells the tatting she does and turned Kristen on to the joys of tatting. A class taken at the fair finally got her shuttle tatting and she went from some first time bits and pieces to a whole shuttle tatted motif.
Marty used two colors of purple Lizbeth size 20 thread and Marie Smith's method of doing split chains for this doily that won both Blue ribbon and an high blue sweepstakes ribbon.
