The Guidelines
1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.
2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.
3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.
4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.
5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.

Marie started to tat the Antique Rose Teapot by Martha Ess from her book, Tea is for Tatting in size 20 Vineyard Harvest, but she ran out of thread. She started again, using an unlabeled thread, but the second time she made too many picots. The third time was just right and she has a finished teapot. The doily for one of her great aunts is tatted with Anchor size 10 metallic crochet thread using a pattern from the Handy Hands newsletter, a reprint of Tatting by Penelope, Bk 4. This motif is from The Tatted Artistry of Teiko Fujito using Star Tatting Thread in three tones of peach.
JB used Lizbeth's Juicy Watermelon size 20 with lime green size 6 beads to tat egg #4. The nice thing about these eggs is that they are a great way to try out threads. She also show a picture of the giveaway that went to Crazy Mom Tats.
Frivole was intrigued by a "Mystery Doily" that Rachel had a picture of, but no reference to it's origins and she started to tat based on instructions written up from the picture. The designer is no longer a mystery, it's a Georgia Seitz pattern from Tatting on the Edge...and Beyond. Frivole used DMC Babylo in size 10.
Mariya is proud of her first tatted jewelery, a pair of earrings. The next item is a three layer flower connected by picots. She finished her Tat Along but she only noticed the correction that the flowers should be 5 rows instead of 6 after she has tatted them. She joined them all together but they would have looked better with the smaller flowers. The Lucky Clover doily is still growing.
Lelia shows a tatted heart and a sampling of tatted pieces for International Tatting Day which is the first of April.
Frances has been tatting but not posting so now she is catching up. Daisy Picot Snowflake by Jon Yousoff, followed by the Flying Minor Norwegian Dragon by Ann Bruvold, and a small mat that was free tatted in Milford satin 2ply Lipstick. She started an edging practice piece for a hand towel modifying edging no3 p21 from Tatting Edgings and Doilys by Rita Weiss but it was too deep so she finished with 2 hearts. The guitar she added to the hand towel was created using other edgings and insertions and she has included the instructions on her blog. It took her only 6 months to tat 25 motifs, so she thinks she will be back. Ring of Rosies from Mary Konior's Tatting with Visual Patterns in Milford Satin 2ply Red is something she tatted for herself.
Jess showed off her Size 40 Tatilicious Pinkaholic using the center round of Iris Neibach's Nora from Tatted Doilies. Shown together are Lizbeth Seagreen Light in Jon's overlapping chain bookmark, then the same pink motif and Lizbeth Lime green and Turquoise Lt in a cross from Tatting Patterns and Designs, all of which are size 40.
Heather's Citizen Schools group worked of tatting butterflies with varying success.
Axa used two similar shades 20 Anchor Freccia to tat the celtic technique motif by Jon Yusoff.
Garyo has been using Lizbeth Spring Garden size 40 to tat a doily by Teiko Fujito. She added another motif to the doily and had to show her new ebony Pop-A-Bobbin shuttle.
Jessica is teaching Photography for Tatters at the Shuttlebirds conference this year.
Marta created a double sided necklace with an enclosed ceramic medallion.
Nancy tired this necklace pattern by Marilee Rockley and a friend has asked her for one in black and white. Her Pink Parade project of booties and hat is done with Lizbeth size 20 thread.
Linda used a McCall's pattern for the CQ bag which is covered front and back with fabulous fabrics, enchanting embroidery and terrific tatting.
Bonnie tatted Jane's Flying Pig using size 20 Lizbeth pink and white, more Using It Up thread.
Bree was quite happy with this doily up to the third row. The fourth row even after 3 tries, just wasn't working. so she's cut off the hens and chicks again. That's when she decided it was done at 3 rows.
Diane couldn't resist when the thread holder, shuttle, hanky, and thread were all displayed within a few inches of each other and she just had to start another project. She didn't think she was going to like Sulky Blendables Foliage but when it was tatted up she really liked it.
Fox couldn't just let it go. She had to persevere and tat from Iris Niebach's book, Tatting Together Square Motifs, #96 design by Ulla Bendtsen in Lizbeth #40. The blue thread she received from Tattin'Kat was used to make this motif with green beads. Gray will be getting this shirt with the goat and now here's a sneak peek at what she's working on. The project is getting bigger.
Kelly is using an Italian pattern for shuttle from an il lavoro chiacchierino magazine and working in HDT from Karey in size 20. It's not the fact that she's a needle tatter using a pattern in an unfamiliar language that's causing problems, but the fact that she's running low on the HDT.
Marty's challenge has been to tat 25 different Christmas ornaments. These are 3 different views of the same 9 ornaments. Aren't they gorgeous?
Mica tatted the Crystal Petal Snowflake from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman with very fine Kreinik braid No. 4.
Michelle tatted another handkerchief for another former student who is getting married in June using Mary Konior's Bridesmaids.
Sherry tatted this length of lace with Sue Hanson HDT and used it for a lanyard on her hook pen. She tatted a Scottie Dog for her little one ans she shares the pattern on her blog. She also announced that her new book is available.
Sue has a suncatcher in Lizbeth size 40 Peacock Blues and one in Lizbeth size 20 Caribbean which is a smidgen large for the bracelet so she has stiffened it so that it doesn't sag. She tatted this necklace pendant from a pattern found online in Lizbeth size 20 black thread. She tatted this hear which is part of Betsy Evans heart bookmark done in Lizbeth size 40 Christmas Red, but she made a mistake an will start it over.
Wanda shared her chocolate at church, wearing her vest covered in tatting, before settling down at home to tat and enjoy International Tatting Day.
