Crosses, Edging, Snowflakes, Motifs, and Hearts

Julie has tatted a cross just like Grandma's. Hers was done in pink and white in size 30 thread. Julie's is done in in size 30 Clark's 3 cord crochet cotton, color 13 (the variegated blue) and white of the same brand.

Orsi is making costumes for the school drama group. This is one of the shirts with a tatted edging around the cuff and she's planning a similar edging on the collar.

Wanda has been working on the Design-Tat homework which was to take a snowflake and turn it into a heart. Here is the snowflake she started with and some of the trial efforts to turn it into a heart. Each one gets a little closer to the desired results.

Barbara has another pattern done from 'Celtic Tatting knots & Patterns' by Rozella Linden. The Celtic Flower is done in Lizbeth size 20 #684 Leaf Green Med. and 131 Vineyard Harvest.

Fox's experiment in pink went so well she has started again in blue, and far from her disclaimer that she isn't designing,....too late she's already become a designer. Most designs come about from pushing things a little here and poking them a little there; seeing what would happen if you did this bit differently or changed that little arrangement. Little changes can make big differences.

Gina has been tatting a plethora of pastel posies and she thinks she might make rosettes her new shuttle emptying design because they are so useful. She tatted Mary Konior's Triad in Altin Basak and notes that it's interesting shape allows for it to serve many purposes like a crown, a ballerina, or a fold over bookmark.

Mica is working from Vida Sunderman's Tatted Snowflakes and did this tiny treasure, called Sparkling Snowflake with Kreinik braid No. 4 which resulted in a snowflake less than 1 inch in diameter. Mica has been doing the challenge working exclusively in metallic threads which can be challenging to use.
