Snowflakes, Snowmen, Edgings and Hearts

Dessert Sonnet has joined the challenge and her first motif is from Beeton's Book of Needlework which is one of the public domain books that can be found on The Gutenberg Project site. Her next motif is a heart done in variegated purple thread that goes well with her violets.
Fox has been struggling with the boredom of tatting a hanky edging. I've learned the solution to the overwhelming boredom of tatting edgings for hankies....tat faster :-) The edging is perfect for this hanky both in colour and pattern and it makes a plain hanky into one that is elegant and sophisticated.
Katie's newest Sweetheart is done in her own HDT DMC instead of Lizbeth size 20, but she likes the Lizbeth better. She also tatted one of Yarnplayer's little rings to go with the earlier Sweetheart. Jon Yusoff's Quantiesque pattern done in Lizbeth size 20 Jelly Bean sits under a glass tree. The Crinoline Lady from Tatting Treats Two by Pam Palmer is being tatted for her sister using Lizbeth size 20 in Christmas Delight & the bonnet is Christmas Red. The plan is to send her a Crinoline Lady on each holiday in 2010, so she can make herself a holiday quilt. What a delightful idea!

Viv received another secret Santa gift for tatting books, beads, thread and a charming tatted snowflake with a suspended bead. Mica really likes the way the colours made these onion rings look. They're tatted with DMC special dentelles no. 80 in Christmas green and white. The 12th day of Christmas from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting (Lene Bjorn) didn't appeal to her in the picture, but she likes how it looks in real life. The thread is one strand of a DMC metallic floss.

Linda tatted these snowman from Carol Winandy's book "Tatting". Instead of joining later she joined to 2 picots while tatting the ring. Krystle shows us some new designs she has created incorporating pieces of broken rhinestone necklace.
Wanda shows us the package she received in an exchange and the lovely doily done in Christmas colours that she sent to her partner.

Aileen took a close up of the shuttle used for beanile lace and she wonders if there is any particular reason for it's unique shape. Anyone know?
Heather has lots of Christmas tatting on the go. The snowflake is the Minaret by Vida Sunderman from the book TATTED SNOWFLAKES. The angel is Heather's own design that she re-worked to get rid of some of the cut ends from the earlier version and she'll post the pattern when she gets more time.

Jeff chose a motif from Mary Konior's Tatting With Visual Patterns to turn into a bookmark for the exchange with TattingChic. "Patchwork" was tatted in Lizbeth size 40 thread in colour #120 Denim Whisper, the nearest thing to a "girly" colour he had. He made a slight mistake on one of the motifs so that he couldn't join it, but he'll find another use for it. He has also announced that his shop has free shipping to Canada and the US for the month of December.

Sherry had bad news about the data recovery of her hard drive, but the good news is that she can now offer a selection of Oriental hook pens as well as Custom hook pens and a lovely new HDT called Himalayan Poppy with lovely subtle shades.
