Flowers, Snowflakes, Edgings, Pumpkins, Bookmarks and Mini Tats

M tatted Patchwork from the book Tatting With Visual Patterns by Mary Konior in Lizbeth size 20, col 601. She tried the Magic thread trick for hiding ends and had difficulties with it. She tried again with a test piece using the instructions from Georgia's site, which seemed to work better. Her next piece is the Flower Fragment, from the book Tatting With Visual Patterns by Mary Konior tatted in Lizbeth size 20, col 684 & col 142.

Mica tatted Lacy Snowflake from Tatted Snowflakes and using Kreinik braid No. 4 a warm, chocolate brown metallic color. The block tatted pattern is Day 9 from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting and was made in metallic DMC floss. Mica finds block tatting too heavy for snowflakes and she didn't really like working on this one so she's moving on and not even fixing the mistake. I'm with you, if you don't enjoy it, why torture yourself with it?
Linda has tatted up an assortment of Lizbeth threads so that we can see what they look like tatted. Some threads that look terrible on the ball tat up into luscious lavish laces and some that look scrumptious on the ball sometimes look like a dog's breakfast tatted. The the first red edging is done in Red Burst #142 and the second edging is Desert Bloom #110. The edgings are sewed on to a collar of a jacket. The third edging is jelly Bean #119 and it will go on a t-shirt. Next is Springtime #115 a very delicate color. Christmas Green Mix #152 has more white than she likes but still a nice color. Angel Love #151 also has quite a bit of white in it and you can see how some designs work better in solid rather than variegated shades. The last colour is Caribbean #122. Linda's exchange partner was Heather and she received a lovely tatted pumpkin in size 10 hand dyed orange. The earrings are Heather's own design tatted in size 30 Harvest Time HDT and the hank of HDT is size 20, Bali.

Charlotte has tatted Lacy Snowflake from Vida Sunderman's Tatted Snowflakes. It is tatted in the glitzy size 10 Anchor Liana Metallic. She also shares an ebay find,a 1920 German tatting book.
Vinnie has been doing more knitting than tatting recently but she did make this tatted bag big enough to hold her mobile, complete with a beaded fringe and butterfly.

Jeanne has created a PDF for her "Meandering Path" motif and made the pattern available.

Ellen has created a new paperclip bookmark for the online class "Joy" and while she was at it, she created a special one for her daughter Joey. Adorable!

Aileen has tatted Karey Solomons Oak Leaf from her book "Tatting Turns Over a New Leaf" in size 20. Then she did motif 53 from Patti Duff's Mini Tats to fit in an acrylic key ring. She used size 20 Milford for one side and then used size 30 Olympus on the other side. The initial J is Teri Dusenbury's which she is currently sharing on her blog. In preparation fro doing a few more of these Aileen has tatted up an assortment of Mini Tats ready for Christmas giving.

Heather received her exchange gifts. From Sherry Matthews a maple leaf pattern in size 50 thread. From Linda Mageske a Halloween postcard with a ghost and bat which are Mark Myers' patterns done in size 20 thread and the pumpkin by Sherry Matthews tatted in size 80. From Betty Jo, a new tatter, she received her own leaf pattern tatted into a bookmark in size 10 thread.
