The Guidelines

1. Permission to copy. When a participant joins they are authorizing us to copy their pictures to be shown on the challenge blog.

2. There is no need to advise the Challenge Team to let let us know when you've added things to your blog. We check all of the blogs when we do an update.

3. We can't keep track of how many motifs each person does. You may post articles of tatting that you don't plan on including in your 25, or you may post a pair of earrings and count each earring as a separate motif. We don't read minds, so it's up to each participant to tell us when they have reached their goal of 25.

4. We know from past experience that the challenge is addictive. If you finish and plan on doing it again let us know so that we continue to check your blog on a regular basis.

5. Whenever you get a chance don't just view the pictures here, take the time to click on the links to people's blogs and read all about what they are doing, instead of just getting the snippets of it here. People like it when you take the time to visit their blog and comment on their work. A lot of the fun of the challenge is that we get to know each other and encourage one another to try new things.

JMM joins the challenge with a snowflake from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Bjørn and is tatted using 1 strand of DMC metallic floss. The next motif is from Tatted Snowflakes and is made with Kreinik braid No. 4 (very fine). And another from 24 Snowflakes in Tatting, with plans to make all 24 snowflakes using a different color of the DMC metallic thread. The doily is Arches from Yarnplayer's blog which sadly has a cut picot.
Lara has just rediscovered the joy of tatting and hopes to encourage herself to tat more by joining the challenge. Her first piece is a tatted bookmark.
LauraRose has added tatting to some ATCs.
Krystle had so much fun making the first set of earrings she had to do it again.
Christine has tatted a pair of crosses from Mary Konior's Tatting with Visual Patterns in 2 different variegated Lizbeth threads, both size 20. A bookmark from Jane Eborall’s blog was made in size 20 Rhubarb Pie from Yarnplayer. Dani's new TIAS is being tatted in Lizbeth 20.
Kyoung-mi has more tatting on her blog all done in Sherry's lovely HDT.
Hye-Soon has a lovely little bouquet of 3D flowers tatted.
Angie is working on the Bocher Models for The Online Tatting Class. This one looks like it needs to go on something round.Several tries at this next piece and it just doesn't want to lay flat. It sure looks like a 2 shuttle design. The red and green edging might look good on a hanky for one of her nieces.
Steph found a pattern containing a doily with a ring of flowers that reminds her of Gerbera daisies. Here's her colourful version done in shades of Gerbera
Vinnie snipped the picots to make this fluffy butterfly. She has also added another round to her homework design, isn't it turning out gorgeous?
Neophyte has finished the doily she plans to put in her son's room and she thinks she needs to pick up the pace to get her 25 done. Well, yeah if you're going to tat doilies as motifs! Never mind, add in a few earrings and it will all even out over the year.
KathyN shares some of the Easter eggs that she has tatted over the years. She used a satin covered eggs and adds embroidered flowers or jewels over top of a motif and a simple edging along the side. Such an interesting way to incorporate tatting without making yards of lace.
Jeanne has started Dani's TIAS using some HDT from kreative kitties. She has some vintage books that she is preparing scans of so that she can share them on her blog.
TattingChic shows us her tatting and chocolate ready for International Tatting Day.
Ais tatted a pattern from the antique pattern library from the DMC pattern library, but she doesn't remember which.
Ellen is hooked on ATCs and shows us what she has created. This absolutely fabulous goldfish was created for Wally in the Extreme Tatters Round Robin. In the same Round Robin Ellen received this wonderful tatted basketful of flowers tatted by Becky. Continuing on the theme of flower baskets Ellen created this paperclip basket of flowers
Shay managed some Tatting for International Tatting Day and she didn't even know there was one.

Anne's first work in needle tatting is a rose heart from Tina Neudorf using DMC perle 5.
Bev's tatted bag is finally finished. She was collecting up pieces to put on a denim bag, but realized she actually has enough for 2. Here is the front and back of the sailcloth bag done for her friend DL.

Eva shares the angels she received in the Round Robin from Aileen, made in Omega size 30 and some metallic thread is Joyce's Angel designed by Martha Ess. The "Dimpled Ring Angel" by Leonore English tatted in Oren Bayan size 50 thread and col 058 Eva tatted for Joyce.
Martha has a new book out, "Tea is for Tatting" I love the title and the book looks really awesome. You should go get yours now. Moni tried dyeing thread with natural paints, rosehip and very strong tea, but the results weren't what she was hoping for. Maybe the next time she'll try beets. I'd like to try dying with beets too, but every time I'm in the kitchen I end up wearing what I'm making.My aprons are spotless, I always seem to miss them!
Sherry shows us some lovely tatted rings that her student Hye-Soon made. She doesn't have much to post herself because she's packing for Shuttlebird's then off to Alaska.
Wally has been tatting some spring flower baskets using Ellen's pattern. For Tatting Day she shows us her pattern from the Design-Tat class. With no TV she has been on a tatting binge and shows us a cute angel by Brigit Phelps that she made a mistake on.The other is a Celtic Knot Angel by Ruth Perry.
