Doilies, Snowflakes, Bookmarks, Necklaces, Heart, Goat, Dolls,Motifs and Edgings
Denise tatted the Sonata doily from The Tatter's Treasure Chest in Lizbeth size 20 #620 Azalea Med and #621 Dusty Rose Lt. She loves the way these two colors look together.
Carol has finished snowflake #6 in the Snowflake Roses book in size 20 Lizbeth Raspberry Frappe, but she put one too many petals on her flower. She plans to tat it again using both variegated and solid threads with beads.
Marie tatted Wanda's Heart's Honor bookmark in light and dark purple pearl cotton size 8 for her Spring Tatting Exchange partner. The Amusement Doily, by Celtess was tatted in Lizbeth size 20 in Vineyard Harvest and makes a lovely doily for a small teapot. This delicate pendent was made for her secret tatting exchange person using an 11 mm round, banded agate and two strands of silver sewing thread.
Jess used the items from her challenge ball giveaway to tat her very own Blockhead shown front and back. She's working of her Tat-Along but the bottom flowers aren't attached because she plans to re-tat them. She didn't show her previous one, so here it is and she'll probably tat the rest of the flowers one of these days. This is her latest attempt at the Torch Lily colour and the bead she used on this heart might be a little too big. Jon's Merriment doily was tatted in size 80 Citrilicious, her latest colourway.
Heather's Citizen School group seems timid about trying new patterns, but they're keen on tatting butterflies for their final project.
Marta's latest necklace has cobalt blue beads in green
Nancy shows us what she has been tatting when she gets a few spare minutes between renovations.
SunshineCraft comes back from her blogging break with Jane Eborall's TIAS goat in pink. The bottom two bracelets were done with double stitches and the other one is done with half stitches inspired by the ones in a Klutz book. This shapeless tatted blob needs some help to pull it into shape.
Linda shows us some of the projects and goodies from the Finger Lakes tatting workshop. Heart on a Wood Ring by Carolyn Groves and Butterfly in your Heart pattern by Nina Libin, taught by Ginny Weathers were 2 of the projects she completed. She purchased raffle tickets and won a small car tin filled with EZ bob, 2 shuttles filled and a pattern from Claudette Pomroy that makes a red heart. One of the classes she didn't take was Belle d'Amour dolls by Kaye Judt.
Diane thinks the Sulky blendables Nordic Fjord may be her favorite colour combination. Diane started her favourite Mary Konior, Spinning Wheel Glass Mat in a sample lavender HDT thread from Marilee and was horrified to run out at the last six rings and chains. Happily Marilee had more of the sample thread she could send.
Fox has been tatting along with her Tischband. She has been using HDT #40, Fancy Fields, by Jess and she likes the leaves, but not how the flowers fit together. Maybe she'd like it better with a different motif. She took a relaxed approach with this pattern from Mark Myers tatted in Cebelia and didn't bother with front side/back side tatting. The result was that she didn't have to back track quite so much to correct stitches. I'm all for going with the flow and personally I don't think front side/back side tatting looks ANY better so I don't do it, but that's just my opinion.
Marty created this design on the computer first then tatted it in size 10 and found a spot where she needed to change the direction of the chain. Then she did it in size 20 and found a couple of spots that needed tweaking before she did this pair in two colours of Sulky blendables she had on the shuttles. She doesn't remember what the colours were or she'd do more. Here's a computer rendition of what it would look like joined in the corners, or even better joined along the sides.
Michelle tatted this ASM alias an anti scratch mat from Teiko Fujito's book in Lizbeth size 20, but she's not sure what colour it is.
Sherry taught a mock hairpin lace design at Shuttlebird's and she took this floral necklace class from Krystle. Jessica taught an update of a Priscilla pattern and she found a DMC metallic embroidery thread that seems good even though it's polyester.
Wanda has finished her paired edging patterns and used them on a cup. Very beautiful and very distinctive.
Wendy used an Anchor Mercer Crochet size 20, a very pretty variegated thread to tat Ladytats Daisy and Butterfly Bookmark.

Doilies, Motifs, Bookmarks, Necklaces, Bracelet, Flowers, Owls and Snowflakes
Denise joins the challenge and she has been working from The Tatter's Treasure Chest where she found the pattern for a doily called Primrose which she tatted in Lizbeth size 20 colour #673 Terra Cotta.
Carol tatted another snowflake from Jon's Elegant Tatted Gems book using Lizbeth size 20 Raspberry Frappe. She started another snowflake rose in the same thread and this time it worked.
Marie used two strands of Coats & Clarks copper sewing thread around this mahogany obsidian stone and added copper and glass beads hanging down. Here is the collection of things she has done so far. The carnelian agate is more of a free form design. The broach pattern comes from Teiko Fujito's, Tatting Lace and was done in size 10 peach colour crochet thread. The cross pendant she did for herself has a round carnelian agate at the centre and the middle rings are two strands of silver sewing thread, while the hearts are two strands of copper sewing thread and the outer scroll work are two strand of bright gold sewing thread.
Lyn did the Sabrina Tattered Bookmark Pattern by Kersti Anear and emptied her shuttles tatting butterflies. The blue and white tatted motif comes from the free-tatting web site and the white motif pattern comes from Old and New Designs in tatting --book no.11.
Frivole has a few more rows done on the butterfly doily. She has also posted pictures on starting a chain without a paperclip.
Lelia tatted a motif from Mini Tats by Patti Duff with size 20 LizBeth colour 650. Another motif from Mini Tats was tatted with size 20 LizBeth colour 661.
Jess found a cute lady bug in the mail, a gift from Michelle. The from Beelizabeth she received a bookmark and a purse dangle. The bookmarks inspired her to tat her own. The first one is for herself, tatted in LadyShuttlemaker's Confetti Sprinkles Size 80 with an added split ring tail and a round shell bead around a few other beads. The pink/purple one is her own Tatilicious thread in size 40 and she used a different centre bead in the round shell. The last one is a bracelet in Lizbeth size 80 in silver done with a ceramic medallion, but she's not happy with how the beads look. So her current WIP is the bracelet with the beads cut off.
Linda shares porcelain boxes with flowers. She tatted around the edges and inside with Lizbeth and Sulky gold thread to make some lovely gifts.
Ancolie`s delicate lacy motif is under glass making a beautiful wine bottle coaster.
Anne has been busy at work leaving little time for tatting or blogging, but she did manage to tat a new runner for her mother and a blue poppy earring. She hasn't written the patterns for them yet.
Diane loves the way Mary Konior's Spinning Wheel Glass Mat shows off hand dyed threads like Teenybopper from Yarnplayer. The other four motifs here are from Occhi, the Peacock Book. Kersti's Stumpy was tatted in Sulky Blendable Kyoto Garden colour.
Fox has started another 100 motifs. The tatting in this bit uses colours very appropriate for spring. In preparation for the peacock she thought she would get in some practice with onion rings using Roger aka Freedman’s pattern tatting with Tatskool’s Spice Collection HDT. The pink and green motif is itty bitty done in size 80 thread. She started a Tischband leaf following Frivole's instructions, but seems to have gone astray somewhere. Then she started a motif from her new book with Lizbeth #40 which she found much more civilized. She got side tracked by a Judy Banashek motif tatted in some HDT by Jess. She's back to tatting Tischband flowers.
Kelly tatted Nancy Tracy's owl from her newsletter of October 2011 in size 20 Lizbeth. The bookmark pattern by LaRae Mikulecky is made in size 20 HDT by LadyShuttleMaker. This motif with simple rings and chains has 4 different ways to add beads to it and she'll be teaching it at the Fringe tatting weekend in September.
Marty tatted another Sternenhimmel (Starry Sky) motif from Susanne Schwenke's book SpitzenKreationen. The star-shaped motif from the same book is made with two strands of Sulky blendables thread in green shades.
Vanessa tatted Mary Konior's Spinning Wheel Glass Mat which she has designated her first mug rug.
Wanda was working on another edging, but it didn't come out as planned, so she added a centre and now it's a lovely motif done in Lizbeth #163 Blue Ice in size 40.
Carol tatted another snowflake from Jon's Elegant Tatted Gems book using Lizbeth size 20 Raspberry Frappe. She started another snowflake rose in the same thread and this time it worked.
