Axa tatted this pumpkin based on Marl Myers' design in size 80 Anchor Artiste.
Marta used red drawstring cotton for this necklace. Finer thread just wouldn't wrap around these beads.
Patrycja is trying for a snowflake a day starting with the first and ending on the 24th.
IsDihara tatted the OctoStarFlake by Jane Eborall pattern which is on the Palmetto Tat Days 2011 Pattern CD in Lizbeth #135 Lollipop size 20. The beads are size 11 Dyna-mites seed beads in blue/lilac with a few galvanized gold seed beads in size 11 just for fun.
Linda tatted Nancy Tracy's Halloween Owl. She picked up some glass balls and added a crown around the top of it using a pattern from an old Handy Hands Newsletter.
Fox received an ingenious first aid kit in the mail from Tabatha along with some thread and beads and had to start something with it right away to take her mind off Jon's Almas snowflake which is giving her trouble. Again. Ruth Perry's celtic heart was tatted in the Lizbeth #20 Tabatha sent as was my Merry Christmas snowflake from 2009. A jacket has had the excess length of the sleeves amputated and now Fox is looking at adding a tatted edging and after auditioning this vintage design, she's not sure where to attach it, up or down, or if she should go for something else.
Gina took 3 tries to get Nancy Tracy's owl but she finally has it completed. Mary's Butterfly is done in Yarnplayer's Maple Sugar HDT. She also tatted A Happy Bookmark from Martha's new book, Playing with Picots in Yarnplayer's Forest HDT and it has gone to her son in law for his birthday.
Kat decided to transform Krystle's Spanish Dancer earrings into necklaces since most people she knows don't wear earrings quite that large. Here they are in Lizbeth Caribbean, Wild Flower Garden, Spring Garden, Autumn Spice, Leafy Green, and Autumn Spice. She had a request to tat something to wear on the big headbands for a baby girl and she modified one of Jane Eborall's designs in Lizbeth size 10 Juicy Watermelon. The coin for perspective, is a quarter.
Kelly's tatting has been on hold while other things got done but her she has finished a Debbie Arnold project, an ornament that she first did 4 years ago at the Fringe weekend. Here are the 2 recently completed.
Martha has discovered that a pattern in her recent book doesn't match the illustration. While both are pretty, it really ought to look like the purple one and an errata sheet is now being inserted in all the books.
Sue has more of Mary's Butterfly in size 40 Lizbeth Tropical Punch and another butterfly in Yarnplayer's Corsage HDT, size 40.
Challenge yourself to tat 25 motifs within the next 12 months and show us your progress. A motif can be a medallion, snowflake, heart, bookmark, butterfly, earrings or any small piece of tatting. Tell us where the pattern is from or if it's original. Post pictures on your blog, web page or photo page. Add a comment below the current post giving the location of your pictures and you will be added to the list of links.

Snowflakes, Doily, Newt, Motifs, Heart, Cross and Butterflies
Tattabugg used Lizbeth size 80 in Blue Ice to tat Third Day of December in the book 24 Snowflakes in Tatting by Lene Bjorn.
Marta thinks that at 29 cm her Winter Tale doily done in colours of milk and honey is complete.
Sharon after breaking the thread in size 20, switched to size 10 to work on Anne Bruvold's Nettie the Newt. Once she had it done in size 10 she switched back to the left over thread in size 20 but ran out of thread before she got to the back legs, found another shuttle with size 20 and started again only to run out of thread again when she got most of the way down the tail.
Fox tatted this orange and green motif in Finca 16 and temporarily laid it on the lilac motif. She is determined to master "Almas" and has drawn it out in colour to help her. So far it's working. The beads appeared blue when they were selected at night, but in the bright light of day they're really green with blue highlights. The celtic pumpkin was finally mastered with the help of some thick cord.
Isa is working on a hummingbird pattern by Karen Lidsay using silk thread and crystal beads.
Orsi has some silk thread, needle tatted flowers for a lacy fabric done. The pumpkin is a plain one since she wasn't brave enough to try the celtic one.
Sue is amazed that she actually managed to get 25 motifs tatted this year. Mary Konior's Queen of Hearts from Tatting with Visual Patterns in size 100 Rainbow Bright HDT from Tatskool. Mary Konior's Posy from Tatting with Visual Patterns in size 40 Lizbeth Fruit Fizz. Tatted Cross by Mark Myers in size 40 Lizbeth Lilac Dk. Knobby Snowflake from Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn in size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Taffy and Lemon Yellow. All of these have gone into coasters. Then there's Mary's butterfly done in size 40 Lizbeth Rainbow Taffy. She was so addicted to the butterfly that she did it again in size 40 Lizbeth Peacock Blues and another in size 100 Rainbow Bright HDT from Tatskool.

Necklace, Scissors Fob and Teaser
Marta's newest creation in the same theme uses neutral colour thread in contrast to the dark beads.
IsDihara shows the scissor fob created with tatting and beads from the Tat Days class with Sharren Morgan done in Lizbeth 40 #638 Christmas Green with size 11 Dyna-mites seed beads in blue/lilac. And here's a sneak peek at the class project she's working on.

Ornaments, Dragon, Doily, Motifs, Bookmarks, Snowflakes and Goldfish
Frances completed the Astrid ball and the red star ball as well, the pink in Coats size 40 and the red in Coats size 20.
Stacy simply had to tat Anne Bruvold's Flying Minor Norwegian Dragon. The body is made with Lizbeth Gold and the wings are the green and gold HDT from Yarnplayer.
Jess continues to work on the Yes U Can doily using alternate solid yellow and variegated rainbow taffy threads for the row of flowers. The preceding row of single shuttle work was a bit long, but since it was her first time doing them it's OK. Sometimes when you design things like this it's best to do the outside row first working from the outside in. That way you can adjust how long the bare threads need to be joining both to the inner rounds and the outer motifs to connect the sections together.
Heather is continuing her beginner tatter series showing how to hide ends.
Michelle tatted this pumpkin by Ruth Perry but it didn't work quite right until Cindy gave her the necessary information to make it all come together. Now she has a pair of pumpkin earrings to wear all week.
Jessica started this design from Priscilla Tatting Book #3 working in size 3 thread. She had plans to do it in size 20 but she wanted to see if she couldn't find a more effective way of doing it than creating a bunch of separate motifs. Sadly, the store not longer carries the dark blue thread in the right size and the only way to finish it off was to cut off the section she had done in the dark thread and call it finished at the smaller size. The good news is that she did figure out how to do 2 motifs at a time. Maybe the cut off piece could become a barrette.
Patrycja has 2 more snowflakes done designed by Magbod. Some will be uses as gifts and some will decorate tables.
IsDihara has announced the winner of her giveaway. The answer as to what she was working on was working on was Martha's Sunrise Sunset bookmark.
Cindy was trying to figure out Ruth Perry's Celtic Pumpkin and not having much success until she switched to thicker thread. Much thicker and more like rope. Once she had something big enough to play with it was easily figures out.
Claudia's friend introduced her to Playing with Picots by Martha Ess and she used a variegated thread called Camila for this one. In Georgia's online class they reviewed this cute pattern, Netty the newt, by Anne Bruvold.
Diane is making slow but steady progress on her Yes U Can doily.
Fox took a walk on the wild side and tatted Mrs Mee's pernicious picots from Martha's new book using 16 Finca thread the un-tatting of which was nearly an exercise in futility, but with perseverance success was achieved. The broomstick lace technique was definitely a winning exercise. There was a moment of panic when she thought she had forgotten how to do an SSSR, but a quick YouTube refresher brought it all back. Almas, from Jon's Snowflake book took a wrong turn somewhere and there's no more of the variegated silk thread from LadyShuttlemaker to either fix it or do it over, The colours are lovely but the silk doesn't seem to be kind to her hands. Fox, by the way, is going for a 100 motif challenge just so that she doesn't have to keep starting another 25. This square design is from Tatting Patterns and Designs and is small but perfect. The Celtic Pumpkin however is rather sorry.
Gina has tatted another of the vintage designs from D.M.C. Tatting by Thse. Dillmont and included the stitch count on the picture for anyone else that wants to tat it. The original makes a really pretty design with a netting background which she doesn't plan to do. Gina used Finca Green 4565 size 16, and Peach 7646 size 16 with Metallic MLI #601 50 from Japan to tat Nami's Goldfish.
