Julie saw several hankies while antiquing, but only one of them came home with her as she found the edging intriguing. She has a lovely silvery green thread that's a perfect match for the embroidered leaves on this hanky, but when she tried tatting Mary Konior's Snake Chains it's looked frayed almost immediately. Maybe she'll have to try another design like this one.
IsDihara has posted a tribute to Doretha Albee 1935-2011, the editor of Tatting Knots and Notes newsletter, along with a picture of one of the many designs Doretha created. This one was tatted by Carol Lawecki.
Claudia tatted another flower from pattern by Takako Kitano in DMC perle cotton 8 , in variegated lilac and orange for the flowers, green for the tail and cluny leaves. The bouquet is wrapped in a mignonette motif, using anchor thread #8 in white. It this ever cute! In the online class they reviewed split chains using this clever candy cane design.
Diane nearly forgot to tat her May snowflake for the Snowflake A Month Challenge at The Tatting Forums, but she was saved by the tiny "Itsy-Bitsy Snowflake" from A Veritable Tatted Blizzard by Samantha Melnychuk.
Fox tatted Elisa's cluny heart again to balance out the boredom of tatting more hanky edging. It's coming along, but she needed a break. She also tatted one of Patti Duff's Mini Tats motifs.
Kelly has been working on this logo for the Fringe Element Tatters that has just been voted on. She is currently making a doily in Coats size 30 thread and using a very fine needle, which explains why she has been poked and stabbed a lot. has been poked and stabbed a lot.
Sue wanted something to do and ended up making this snowflake called the Cloverleaf Snowflake from Tatted Snowflakes by Vida Sunderman in Lizbeth size 40 Snow White. Pretty and delicate.
Grandma Wanda was distracted and forgot to tat booties for the little one. So she opted for adding tatted floral motifs to some socks for the baptismal ceremony and then decorated a second pair for later.

Doilies, Bookmarks, Motifs and Flags
Anika got her fair entries back with an assortment of ribbons, but she isn't sure which piece received which ribbon. She's currently working on a old pattern that doesn't particularly lay right, but it is pretty. She tatted this motif during Art in the Park but just found it again. The framed doily over the fireplace is one she designed that gives her a great sense of accomplishment.
Nancy has posted a tatted flag for Memorial day in Lizbeth size 20 threads it measures 8.5 inches X 12.5 inches and took about 120 hours to tat.
Linda designed a tatted bookmark in patriotic colours.
Cindy is making progress on the Mary Konior Flowerpiece doily and she is being careful to use consistent tension on her chains but she wishes she had used Jane's "blipless join" on the chains.

Edgings, Necklace, and Doily
Julie also found these lovely pillowcases while antiquing, with lovely embroidered roses and a simple yet effective edging. She's using a simple ring and chain edging done in size 10 ecru to give this little girl's dress a little pizzaz.
Bev aka BJ completed Lynn Morton’s triangle design necklace with beads that she was making for her daughter Kristen. She used a tatted split ring in lieu of a chain and added the green crystal hearts.
This hanky edging is taking long enough to send Fox over the edge. She has already started penning doggerel about it. Nevertheless, it is progressing.
Gina has all the ends of this row of motifs hidden so far, but this project is going to take quite a while and it's easy to get bored with it.
Sue has done Arlenes First Place Winner doily in Lizbeth size 40 Tropical Punch and White.

Motifs, Edging and Earrings
Anika had to see how her new threads looked so she took time from bigger projects to tat this motif. She has been experimenting with creating her own shuttles and after waiting for the epoxy to cure, she got to test one out.
Garyou bought the new Silk Lace Thread by Daikoku Shigyou at Japan Hobby Show and tatted this motif that she thinks is in a book by Fujito Teiko with it. The verdict is that she really likes it for tatting.
Julie found an embroidered dresser scarf with a tatted edging while browsing an antique store and it had to come home with her. Some injuries received while pruning roses have hampered the progress on her hanky, but it's still progress.
Diane chose to use Mary Konior's Clover design from Tatting with Visual Patterns in white for this hanky. Simply lovely!
Fox didn't get a lot of tatting done while she was away, but now that she's home she expects that the progress on this hanky will go much faster.
Mary has been wanting to make more tatted jewelry so she pulled out some deep raspberry wine color thread and started tatting away. Scrumptious!

Motifs and Tatted Rings
Jessica wasn't going to buy any more thread when she was at the Shuttlebirds’ conference, but she couldn't resist trying out the King Tut thread. For a quick motif she decided to whip up the motif from the Star Doily since it's easy to work with a design you already know. The results looked nice sitting on her hand so she wondered how it would look as a ring. That led to tatting a few more.
Gina tatted this motif called Hearts & Flowers from Lyn Morton's Tatting Patterns in size 20 Lizbeth thread, but she's lost the label so she doesn't have the name.

Bracelet, Earrings, Necklace, Heart, Fower, Lady, Edging and Motifs
Marta was intrigued years ago by patterned beads and bought some Fimo so that she could make her own. Recently she uncovered her beads and decided to add them to a tatted bracelet. The results are a unique one of a kind bracelet.
Magda wanted to do something with the gold thread she had, but didn't like the pattern, so she decided to do something on her own, incorporating delicate iridescent round beads and a mother of pearl leaf in these earrings. Then she wanted a matching necklace but the twisted cord didn't stay in place so the pendant is a modified design.
Orsi has morphed her recently created edging into a heart that just happens to be her 25th motif.
Isabel has decided that since this is the third anniversary of her tatting, that she would start working on techniques that she liked but scared her. She has also decided to change the look of the pictures she uploads.
Linda has continued to work on CQ blocks. For the Victorian themed block she tatted a Crinoline Lady from Pam Palmer's book, "Tatting Treats Two", using size 80, Lizbeth 615, Yellow LT thread and embroidered on a bouquet of flowers. More tatted motifs have been stitched in the corner and an edging of Mary Konior's leaf braid in Lizbeth 40, 124 Spring Garden was stitched along a seam with little clusters of beads.
Brigitte tatted the rosette design by Jon Yusoff using Altin Basak size 50 thread that works up between a size 20 and 30.
Claudia tatted the central flower with DMC perle cotton thread size 8 in variegated Lila, from a modification of a pattern by Jeanne Luggert and it makes a very pretty pin.
Fox was sent a vintage pattern and decided to tat it with DMC Perle thread on a Boye shuttle and surprisingly, she likes the thread and the shuttle. The pattern confused her a little and it took several tries because she though the depicted tatting was a single motif. It made more sense when she realized there were 2. When she returned from her trip she found a package in the mail that included lots of goodies including this charming case and a butterfly tatted by Kelly, which Fox thought looked better when it was stitched onto the case. And finally, here is a picture of all the tatting she got done while away.
